And with the choice things of the earth and its fullness, And the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush. Let it come to the head of Joseph, And to the top of the head of the one who was prince among his brothers.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,who rescued us from so great a danger of death, and will rescue us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,

But as for the fact that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed this in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

But regarding the fact that the dead rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

“ Behold, I am sending My messenger, and he will clear a way before Me. And the Lord, whom you are seeking, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of armies.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.

But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be a people of His own possession, as today.

Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has appeared to me, saying,“ I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt.

You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water. Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.

Now the angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.He said,“ Hagar, Sarai’s slave woman, from where have you come, and where are you going?” And she said,“ I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.”So the angel of the Lord said to her,“ Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.”The angel of the Lord also said to her,“ I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count.”The angel of the Lord said to her further,“ Behold, you are pregnant, And you will give birth to a son; And you shall name him Ishmael, Because the Lord has heard your affliction.But he will be a wild donkey of a man; His hand will be against everyone, And everyone’s hand will be against him; And he will live in defiance of all his brothers.”Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her,“ You are a God who sees me”; for she said,“ Have I even seen Him here and lived after He saw me?”

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men, nor was the hair of their heads singed, nor were their trousers damaged, nor had even the smell of fire touched them.

For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the boys; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

“ Awake, sword, against My Shepherd, And against the Man, My Associate,” Declares the Lord of armies.“ Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

Yes, he wrestled with the angel and prevailed; He wept and implored His favor. He found Him at Bethel, And there He spoke with us,And the Lord, the God of armies, The Lord is His name.

In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.And the Lord said,“ I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their outcry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Then the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven,and said,“ By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,

But the Lord desired To crush Him, causing Him grief; If He renders Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, For He will bear their wrongdoings.

Then God said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age.Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the wrongdoing of the Amorite is not yet complete.”Now it came about, when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch appeared which passed between these pieces.
