Then they will pay attention to what you say; and you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

“ The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt. You must say to him,‘ The Lord has met with us. He is the God of the Hebrews. Let us take a journey that lasts about three days. We want to go into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’

And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

“ The elders of Israel will accept your message. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt and tell him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So please let us take a three day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord, our God.’

They will listen to what you say. Then you, along with the elders of Israel, must go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go on a three-day trip into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

“ The elders will listen to you, and then you and the elders of Israel must go to the king of Egypt and tell him,‘ The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’

They will listen to your voice. You shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him,‘ Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh, our God.’

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Go to Pharaoh and speak to him,‘ This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says:“ Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.

And you shall say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying,“ Let My people go, so that they may serve Me in the wilderness. But behold, you have not listened up to now.”

Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you; only may the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses, and said,“ Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be left behind. Even your little ones may go with you.”But Moses said,“ You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, so that we may sacrifice them to the Lord our God.Therefore, our livestock too shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we shall take some of them to serve the Lord our God. And until we arrive there, we ourselves do not know with what we shall serve the Lord.”

The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the Lord.

Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has appeared to me, saying,“ I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him,‘ This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says:“ Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.

It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the doorway of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.I will meet there with the sons of Israel, and it shall be consecrated by My glory.

You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the atoning cover that is over the ark of the testimony, where I will meet with you.

There I will meet with you; and from above the atoning cover, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about every commandment that I will give you for the sons of Israel.

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,“ Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”

So the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord was concerned about the sons of Israel and that He had seen their affliction, they bowed low and worshiped.And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ Let My people go so that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.’ ”But Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and besides, I will not let Israel go.”Then they said,“ The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, otherwise He will strike us with plague or with the sword.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said,“ Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.”But Moses said,“ It is not permissible for us to do so, because we will sacrifice to the Lord our God that which is an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice that which is an abomination to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us?We must go a three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God, just as He commands us.”Pharaoh said,“ I will let you go, so that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Plead for me.”

Then he said to Balak,“ Stand here beside your burnt offering while I myself meet the Lord over there.”Then the Lord met Balaam and put a word in his mouth, and said,“ Return to Balak, and this is what you shall speak.”

And you shall crush some of it very fine, and put part of it in front of the testimony in the tent of meeting where I will meet with you; it shall be most holy to you.

You shall then leave them in the tent of meeting in front of the testimony, where I meet with you.

They did not say,‘ Where is the Lord Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, Through a land of deserts and of pits, Through a land of drought and of deep darkness, Through a land that no one crossed And where no person lived?’

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him,“ This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says:‘ How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.

Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said,“ The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.”Therefore God led the people around by way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in battle formation from the land of Egypt.

And He said,“ Assuredly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.”

Then Jacob said to Joseph,“ God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

Your people will volunteer freely on the day of Your power; In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew.

Now when Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,“ I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.

“ Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ I remember regarding you the devotion of your youth, Your love when you were a bride, Your following after Me in the wilderness, Through a land not sown.

You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, We continued in our sins for a long time; Yet shall we be saved?

to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened;

Then Balaam said to Balak,“ Stand beside your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the Lord will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you.” So he went to a bare hill.Now God met with Balaam, and he said to Him,“ I have set up the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.”

In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

But it came about at the overnight encampment on the way, that the Lord met Moses, and sought to put him to death.

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;
