Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

他就起來，就喫，就喝，仗着這飲食的力量、就走了四十晝四十夜，直走到上帝的山何烈。

看吧，我必站在你前面，在何烈磐石那裏；你要擊打磐石，就有水從磐石裏出來，讓人民喝。』摩西就在以色列長老眼前這樣行了。

摩西的岳父何巴的子孫基尼人希百曾離開基尼人，到靠近基低斯、撒拿音的聖篤耨香樹旁邊去搭帳棚。

阿摩司回答亞瑪謝說：『我不是神言人，也不是神言人的弟子；我乃是牧夫，又是整理無花果桑樹的；永恆主選取了我、使我不趕羊；永恆主對我說：「你去向我人民以色列傳神言。」

永恆主說：『不可走近這裏來；要把你腳上的鞋脫下，因為你所站的地方是聖地。』

他們在何烈山造了牛犢，敬拜了鑄像。

你在何烈山站在永恆主你的上帝面前那一天，永恆主怎樣對我說：「你要召集人民，我要叫他們聽我的話，使他們儘在地上活着的日子可以學習敬畏我，也可以教訓他們的兒女。

他揀選了大衛做他的僕人，從羊圈中選取了他，帶他離開放羊的生活，去牧養他自己的人民雅各，他自己的產業以色列。於是大衛憑他心中的純全來牧養他們，用他手腕的靈巧來引導他們。

於是摩西和他的助手約書亞起來，摩西就上了上帝的山。

摩西的岳父、米甸祭司葉忒羅、聽見上帝為摩西和上帝自己的人民以色列所行的一切事，就是永恆主怎樣將以色列人從埃及領出來的事；這位摩西的岳父葉忒羅便帶着摩西的妻子西坡拉來，就是摩西曾經打發她回去的；葉氏又帶着西坡拉的兩個兒子，一個名叫革舜，因為摩西說：『我在外人之地做了寄居的』；一個名叫以利以謝，因為他說：『我父親的上帝是幫助我的，他援救了我脫離法老的刀』。摩西的岳父葉忒羅和摩西的妻子跟兩個兒子、來到上帝的山、就是摩西在曠野紮營的地方、要見摩西。有人對摩西說：『看哪，你岳父葉忒羅來找你呢；他和你妻子、跟兩個兒子和她一齊來的。』

摩西上到上帝那裏，永恆主從山上呼喚他說：『你要這樣對雅各家說，這樣告訴以色列人說：

以下是提哥亞一個大戶牧人阿摩司的話：就是當猶大王烏西雅的日子、以色列王約啊施的兒子耶羅波安的日子、大地震以前二年、阿摩司見了異象論到以色列所說的。

要豫備好了、來赴第三天，因為第三天永恆主要在眾民眼前降臨在西乃山上。

永恆主對亞倫說：『你往曠野去迎接摩西。』亞倫就去；他在上帝的山遇見了摩西，就和他親嘴。

她們來到父親流珥那裏，父親說：『今天你們為甚麼來得這麼快呢？』

『你們要記得我僕人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山為以色列眾人所吩咐他、的律例和典章。

米甸的祭司有七個女兒；她們來打水，打滿了槽，要給她們父親的羊羣喝。

『永恆主我們的上帝在何烈山告訴我們說：「你們在這山住的日子夠了；

摩西上山，有雲彩把山遮蓋着。永恆主的榮耀停於西乃山，那雲彩把山遮蓋了六天；第七天永恆主從雲中呼召摩西。永恆主之榮耀的形狀、在以色列人眼前、就像燒燬東西的火在山頂上。

耶穌在加利利海邊走走，看見弟兄二人，就是稱為彼得的西門、和他兄弟安得烈、撒網子在海裏；因為他們是漁夫。就對他們說：『來跟着我，我就使你們做得人的漁夫。』

摩西甘心樂意地和那人同住；那人把他的女兒西坡拉給摩西為妻。

在同一個地區，有牧人露宿在野地裏，夜間守更，看顧羊羣。
