Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

于是他起来吃喝，靠着那食物的力量，他走了四十昼夜，直走到神的山，就是何烈山。

摩西对自己的岳父米甸人流珥的儿子何巴说：“我们要起行到耶和华应许的地方去，他曾说：‘我要把那地赐给你们’，现在求你与我们同去，我们必善待你，因为耶和华对以色列已经应许福乐。”

看哪，我必在何烈山那里的磐石上站在你面前；你要击打磐石，就必有水从磐石流出来，使人民可以喝。”摩西就在以色列的长老眼前这样行了。

摩西的岳父何巴的子孙基尼人希伯，曾经离开基尼族人，到靠近基低斯的撒拿音的橡树旁，支搭帐棚居住。

阿摩司回答亚玛谢说：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的门徒；我本是牧人，是修理桑树的，但耶和华选召我，叫我不再跟随羊群；他对我说：‘你去，向我民以色列说预言。’

耶和华说：“不可过到这里来；要把你脚上的鞋脱掉，因为你所站的地方是圣地。”

他们在何烈山做了牛犊，敬拜铸成的偶像。

免得你忘了你在何烈山，站在耶和华你们的神面前的那天。那时耶和华对我说：‘你要为我召集众民，我要叫他们听我的话，使他们在那地上生活的日子，可以学习敬畏我，又可以教训自己的儿女。’

他拣选了自己的仆人大卫，把他从羊圈中召出来；他领他出来，使他不再跟着那些母羊，却要牧养他的子民雅各，和他的产业以色列。于是大卫以正直的心牧养他们，灵巧地引导他们。

于是，摩西和他的侍从约书亚起来；摩西就上到神的山那里去了。

摩西的岳父，米甸祭司叶忒罗，听见了神为摩西和他自己的人民以色列所行的一切，就是耶和华怎样把以色列人从埃及领出来的事，他就带着摩西的妻子西坡拉，摩西从前送了她回去，又带着西坡拉的两个儿子，一个名叫革舜，因为摩西说：“我在异地作了客旅”；一个名叫以利以谢，因为他说：“我父亲的神是我的帮助，救我脱离了法老的刀。”摩西的岳父叶忒罗，和摩西的妻子与两个儿子，来到旷野摩西那里，就是到神的山，摩西安营的地方。叶忒罗叫人告诉摩西说：“你的岳父叶忒罗来见你，你的妻子和两个儿子也一同来了。”

摩西上到神那里去，耶和华从山上呼唤他，说：“你要这样告诉雅各家，吩咐以色列人说：

提哥亚的牧人阿摩司，在犹大王乌西雅和以色列王约阿施的儿子耶罗波安作王的日子，大地震前二年所见的异象，就是有关以色列的话，记在下面。

第三天，他们要准备好了，因为第三天耶和华要在全体人民眼前降临在西奈山。

耶和华对亚伦说：“你到旷野去迎接摩西。”他就去了；他在神的山遇见了摩西，就和他亲吻。

她们回到父亲流珥那里，父亲问：“今天你们为什么赶着回来呢？”

“你们要谨记我仆人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山为以色列众人所吩咐他的律例和典章。

米甸的祭司有七个女儿，她们来打水，打满了水槽，要给父亲的羊群喝。

“耶和华我们的神，在何烈山告诉我们：‘你们在这山上住够了；

摩西上到山上，有云彩把山遮盖着。耶和华的荣耀停在西奈山上，云彩把山遮盖了六天；第七天，耶和华从云彩中呼唤摩西。耶和华荣耀的景象，在以色列人眼前，好像在山顶上出现烈火。

耶稣在加利利海边行走的时候，看见兄弟二人，就是名叫彼得的西门和他的弟弟安得烈，正在把网撒到海里去；他们是渔夫。耶稣就对他们说：“来跟从我，我要使你们作得人的渔夫。”

摩西乐意和那人同住；那人把自己的女儿西坡拉给了摩西作妻子。

在伯利恒的郊外，有一些牧人在夜间看守羊群。
