永恆主聞了那怡神的香氣，就心裏說：『我必不再因人的緣故而咒詛土地，雖然人從年幼時心裏所計畫的就是壞事；我也不再照我所剛行的來擊滅眾生了。

以撒對他父親亞伯拉罕說：『爸爸。』亞伯拉罕說：『怎麼啦，孩子？』以撒說：『請看，火跟柴都有了；燔祭的小羊在哪裏呢？』

王到基遍去，在那裏獻祭，因為那是惟一大的邱壇；所羅門往往在那祭壇上獻上成千的燔祭牲。

有火從永恆主面前出來，在祭壇上燒盡了燔祭和脂肪；眾民看見、就大聲歡呼，臉伏於地。

於是永恆主的火便降下來，燒盡了燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又把溝裏的水都餂燒乾了。

也要依愛而行，正如基督愛了你們，為你們捨棄了自己、做供物做祭物獻與上帝、有馨香的氣味。

永恆主說：『你們所獻的許多祭物、對我有甚麼益處？公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油、我飽飫了；公牛的血、羊羔和公山羊的血、我都不喜悅。

上帝說：『你帶着你兒子，你獨生的兒子、你所愛的以撒、到摩利亞地，在我所要對你說明的一個山上、把他獻上來做燔祭。』

全燔祭和為罪獻的祭、你未嘗喜悅過。於是我說：「看哪，我來了；上帝啊，我來是要遵行你旨意的」；關於我的事、經卷上已有記載了。』以上既說：『祭物和供物、全燔祭和為罪獻的祭、你未嘗願要過，也未嘗喜悅過（而這種祭物卻是按照律法而供獻的）；以後又說：『看哪，我來了、是要遵行你旨意的』。可見他是取消那先前的，為要立定那在後的啊。本着這個旨意，藉着耶穌基督儘一次之供獻身體，我們已成為聖別了。

即使我不因你的祭物來責備你——你的燔祭倒不斷在我面前——

撒母耳就把一隻喫奶的羊羔做全燔祭獻上給永恆主；撒母耳為以色列向永恆主哀呼，永恆主就應允他。

從示巴來的乳香，從遠地出的菖蒲，奉來給我有甚麼益處？你們的燔祭不是可悅納的，你們的平安祭、我不覺得香甜。

萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：『你們儘管將你們的燻祭加在你們的平安祭上、喫肉吧。因為我將你們列祖從埃及地領出來那一天，關於燻祭和平安祭的事我並沒有提說，也沒有吩咐他們呀；

然後你就從他們手中接過來，把這些東西燻在祭壇上燔祭品上面，做怡神的香氣在永恆主面前：這是獻與永恆主的火祭。

亞伯拉罕舉目一看，見後面有隻公綿羊、兩角扣住在稠密小樹裏；亞伯拉罕就去取了那隻公綿羊，獻上做燔祭、來代替他的兒子。

但我樣樣都收到了，而且有富餘；我已得補足，因為我從以巴弗提接受了你們那裏所送來的馨香之氣味、可接納的祭物、上帝所喜歡的。

他要在翅膀那裏把禽鳥撕裂，可不要完全分開。祭司就要把鳥燻在祭壇上，在壇火上面的柴上燻：這是燔祭，是怡神香氣之火祭、獻與永恆主。
