耶和华闻那馨香之气，就心里说：“我不再因人的缘故咒诅地（人从小时心里怀着恶念），也不再按着我才行的灭各种的活物了。

以撒对他父亲亚伯拉罕说：“父亲哪！”亚伯拉罕说：“我儿，我在这里。”以撒说：“请看，火与柴都有了，但燔祭的羊羔在哪里呢？”

所罗门王上基遍去献祭；因为在那里有极大的邱坛，他在那坛上献一千牺牲作燔祭。

有火从耶和华面前出来，在坛上烧尽燔祭和脂油；众民一见，就都欢呼，俯伏在地。

于是，耶和华降下火来，烧尽燔祭、木柴、石头、尘土，又烧干沟里的水。

并且尽心、尽智、尽力爱他，又爱人如己，就比一切燔祭和各样祭祀好的多。”

也要凭爱心行事，正如基督爱我们，为我们舍了自己，当作馨香的供物和祭物，献与神。

耶和华说：“你们所献的许多祭物与我何益呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油，我已经够了；公牛的血，羊羔的血，公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。

神说：“你带着你的儿子，就是你独生的儿子，你所爱的以撒，往摩利亚地去，在我所要指示你的山上，把他献为燔祭。”

燔祭和赎罪祭是你不喜欢的。那时我说：‘神啊，我来了，为要照你的旨意行；我的事在经卷上已经记载了。’”以上说：“祭物和礼物，燔祭和赎罪祭，是你不愿意的，也是你不喜欢的（这都是按着律法献的）”；后又说：“我来了为要照你的旨意行”；可见他是除去在先的，为要立定在后的。我们凭这旨意，靠耶稣基督，只一次献上他的身体，就得以成圣。

我并不因你的祭物责备你；你的燔祭常在我面前。

撒母耳就把一只吃奶的羊羔献与耶和华作全牲的燔祭，为以色列人呼求耶和华；耶和华就应允他。

从示巴出的乳香，从远方出的菖蒲奉来给我有何益呢？你们的燔祭不蒙悦纳；你们的平安祭，我也不喜悦。”

万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说：“你们将燔祭加在平安祭上，吃肉吧！因为我将你们列祖从埃及地领出来的那日，燔祭平安祭的事我并没有提说，也没有吩咐他们。

要从他们手中接过来，烧在耶和华面前坛上的燔祭上，是献给耶和华为馨香的火祭。

亚伯拉罕举目观看，不料，有一只公羊，两角扣在稠密的小树中，亚伯拉罕就取了那只公羊来，献为燔祭，代替他的儿子。

但我样样都有，并且有余。我已经充足，因我从以巴弗提受了你们的馈送，当作极美的香气，为神所收纳、所喜悦的祭物。

要拿着鸟的两个翅膀，把鸟撕开，只是不可撕断；祭司要在坛上、在火的柴上焚烧。这是燔祭，是献与耶和华为馨香的火祭。”
