Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

因为公牛和山羊的血不能把罪除去。所以，基督到世上来的时候，就说：“祭品和礼物不是你所要的，你却为我预备了身体。

摩西取了一半的血，盛在盆中；又取了另一半的血，洒在祭坛上。

我必用洁净的水洒在你们身上，你们就洁净了；我必洁净你们的一切污秽，使你们远离所有可憎的像。

饭后，照样拿起杯来，说：“这杯是用我的血所立的新约，你们每逢喝的时候，应当这样行，为的是记念我。”

这是我的血，是为立约的，为许多人流出来，使罪得赦。

愿赐平安的神，就是那凭着永约的血，把群羊的大牧人我们的主耶稣，从死人中领出来的那一位，

耶稣说：“这是我的血，是为立约的，为许多人流出来的。

就是照着父神的预知蒙拣选，藉着圣灵得成圣洁，因而顺服，并且被耶稣基督的血洒过的人。愿恩惠平安多多地加给你们。

饭后，他照样拿起杯来，说：“这杯是用我的血所立的新约，这血是为你们流的。

锡安哪！至于你，因着我与你立约的血，我把你中间被囚禁的人从无水的坑里释放出来。

照样，他也必使多国的人惊异（按照《马索拉文本》，“他也必使多国的人惊异”作“他必洒许多国的民”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），君王要因他闭口不言，因为从未向他们述说过的事，他们必看见；他们从未听过的，他们要明白。

摩西拿了一些膏油和祭坛上的血，弹在亚伦和他的衣服上，以及他儿子和他们的衣服上；这样就使亚伦和他的衣服，他的儿子和他们的衣服都分别为圣。

我们在他爱子里，藉着他的血蒙了救赎，过犯得到赦免，都是按着他丰盛的恩典。

因此，前约并不是没有用血立的：当日摩西按照律法，向所有人民宣布了各样的诫命，就拿牛犊（好些抄本在此有“和山羊”）的血和水，用朱红色的羊毛与牛膝草，洒在律法书上和人民身上，说：“这就是神规定你们立约的血。”他照样把血洒在会幕和各样应用的器皿上。
