Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

摩西下山，向百姓陈述耶和华一切的命令和典章。众百姓齐声说：“耶和华所吩咐的一切，我们都必遵行。”摩西将耶和华一切的命令都写下来。他清早起来，在山脚筑了一座坛，按着以色列十二支派立了十二根石柱。

当以色列众人来到耶和华—你上帝所选择的地方朝见他的时候，你要在以色列众人面前念这律法给他们听。要召集百姓，男人、女人、孩子，和在你城里寄居的，叫他们都得以听见，好学习敬畏耶和华—你们的上帝，谨守遵行这律法的一切话。他们的儿女，就是那未曾认识的，也可以听，学习敬畏耶和华—你们的上帝；你们一生的日子，在你们过约旦河得为业的地上，都要这样做。”

所以，第一个约也是用血立的。因为摩西当日照着律法将各样诫命传给众百姓，就拿朱红色绒和牛膝草，把牛犊、山羊的血和水洒在书上，又洒在众百姓身上，说：“这血就是上帝与你们立约的凭据。”他又照样把血洒在帐幕和敬拜用的各样器皿上。按着律法，几乎每样东西都是用血洁净的；没有流血，就没有赦罪。这样，照着天上样式做的物件必须用这些礼仪去洁净，但那天上的一切，自然当用更美的祭物去洁净。

我只吩咐他们这一件事说：‘你们当听从我的话，我就作你们的上帝，你们也作我的子民。你们行走我所吩咐的一切道路，就可以得福。’他们却不听从，也不侧耳而听，竟随从自己的计谋和顽梗的恶心去行，不进反退。

我指着主嘱咐你们，要把这信宣读给众弟兄听。

在读完了律法和先知的书，会堂主管们叫人过去，对他们说：“二位弟兄，你们若有什么劝勉众人的话，请说。”

你们宣读了这书信，也要交给老底嘉的教会宣读；你们也要宣读从老底嘉转来的书信。
