Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said,“ All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and be obedient.

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

原来不用血，第一个约也不能成立，就是说，摩西按照律法向全体民众宣讲了所有的诫命之后，拿了牛犊和山羊的血，掺上水，用深红色的羊毛和牛膝草，洒在那书卷上和全体民众身上，说：“这是立约的血，是神吩咐给你们的。”然后，他又同样地把血洒在会幕和服事用的所有器皿上。按照律法，几乎一切都是用血洁净的；没有流血，就没有赦免。既然那些诸天之上事物的模型，必须用这些祭物来洁净，那天上事物的本体就必须用比这些更好的祭物来洁净，

我藉着主吩咐你们，要把这封信读给所有的弟兄听。

诵读了律法和先知书以后，会堂主管们派人来对他们说：“各位兄弟，如果有什么鼓励民众的话，就请说吧。”

这封书信在你们那里宣读了以后，也一定要在劳迪西亚的教会中宣读；你们也要宣读从劳迪西亚转来的书信。
