從來沒有人見過上帝，只有父懷中的獨一上帝把祂顯明出來。

我觀看，只見基路伯天使頭頂上的穹蒼之中好像有一個藍寶石寶座。

雅各稱那地方為毗努伊勒，因為他說：「我當面見過上帝，竟能活命。」

然後我會收回我的手，你就可以看見我的背，但看不到我的臉。」

上帝是獨一不朽的，住在人不能接近的光中，從來沒有人見過祂，也沒有人能夠看見祂。願尊貴和永遠的權柄都歸給祂。阿們！

但你不能看我的臉，因為凡看見的，都不能存活。

閃耀著碧玉和紅寶石般的光彩。有一道翡翠般的彩虹圍繞著寶座。

耶穌在他們面前改變了形像，面貌如太陽一樣發光，衣服潔白如光。

在他們頭頂的穹蒼之上彷彿有藍寶石的寶座，有一位形狀像人的高高坐在寶座上。我看到祂的腰部以上好像燒紅發亮的金屬，好像有火四面環繞。腰部以下如同火焰。祂周圍有耀眼的光輝，彷彿雨天雲中的彩虹。這是耶和華榮耀的形像。我一看見，便俯伏在地，隨後聽見有說話的聲音。

城中充滿上帝的榮光，璀璨如貴重的寶石，晶瑩如碧玉。

從來沒有人見過上帝，如果我們彼此相愛，上帝就住在我們裡面，祂的愛就在我們裡面得到成全。

烏西雅王駕崩那年，我看見主坐在高高的寶座上，衣袍下垂，覆蓋了聖殿。在祂上方侍立著撒拉弗天使，他們各有三對翅膀：一對遮臉，一對遮腳，一對飛翔。他們彼此呼喊：「聖哉，聖哉，聖哉，萬軍之耶和華！祂的榮耀充滿大地。」他們的聲音震動聖殿的根基，聖殿裡煙雲彌漫。那時我說：「我有禍了！我要滅亡了！因為我口出不潔之言，又住在口出不潔之言的人群中，並且親眼看見了大君王——萬軍之耶和華。」

耶穌說：「腓力，我和你們相處了這麼久，你還不認識我嗎？人看見了我，就看見了父，你怎麼說『讓我們看看父』呢？

這並不是說有人見過父，唯獨從上帝而來的那位見過父。

耶和華的天使後來沒再向瑪挪亞和他妻子顯現，瑪挪亞才知道他是耶和華的天使。瑪挪亞對妻子說：「我們必死無疑，因為我們看見了上帝。」

又說：「我是你祖先的上帝，是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。」摩西害怕看上帝，就把臉蒙起來。

「這位燦爛似晨光，皎潔如明月，耀眼如太陽，亮麗如佈滿天際之星辰的是誰呢？」

米該雅說：「你要聽耶和華的話。我看見耶和華坐在寶座上，眾天軍侍立在祂左右。

祂右手拿著七顆星，口中吐出一把兩刃的利劍，面貌如烈日放光。

城牆是用碧玉砌成的，城本身是用純金造的，跟玻璃一樣明淨。城牆的基石用各種寶石裝飾：第一塊基石是碧玉，第二塊是藍寶石，第三塊是綠瑪瑙，第四塊是綠寶石，第五塊是紅瑪瑙，第六塊是紅寶石，第七塊是橄欖石，第八塊是水蒼玉，第九塊是黃寶石，第十塊是翡翠，第十一塊是紫瑪瑙，第十二塊是紫晶。十二個城門是用十二顆珍珠造的，每一個城門都是一顆珍珠，城中的街道是純金的，好像透明的玻璃一樣。我看見城中沒有聖殿，因為全能的主上帝和羔羊就是聖城的殿。聖城裡不需要太陽和月亮的光照耀，因為有上帝的榮光照耀，羔羊就是聖城的燈。
