只是玛拿西子孙不能赶出这些城的居民，迦南人偏要住在那地。及至以色列人强盛了，就使迦南人做苦工，没有把他们全然赶出。

至于住耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，犹大人不能把他们赶出去，耶布斯人却在耶路撒冷与犹大人同住，直到今日。

他们没有赶出住基色的迦南人；迦南人却住在以法莲人中间，成为做苦工的仆人，直到今日。
