“ You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert justice.

“ Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,

“ Do not follow the crowd when they do what is wrong. When you are a witness in court, do not turn what is right into what is wrong. Do not go along with the crowd.

You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice,

“ You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice.

You shall not follow the crowd in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to join together with a crowd in order to pervert justice;

You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to wrest justice:

“ You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert justice.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to[ do] evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest[ judgment]:

“ You must not follow a crowd in doing evil things; in a lawsuit you must not offer testimony that agrees with a crowd so as to pervert justice,

“ You shall not follow a crowd to do evil. You shall not testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice.

“ You must not deny justice to a poor person among you in his lawsuit.Stay far away from a false accusation. Do not kill the innocent and the just, because I will not justify the guilty.

But if it doesn’t please you to worship the LORD, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship— the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the LORD.”

Then the whole community broke into loud cries, and the people wept that night.All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, and the whole community told them,“ If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!Why is the LORD bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and children will become plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and go back to Egypt.”Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole assembly of the Israelite community.Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who scouted out the land, tore their clothesand said to the entire Israelite community,“ The land we passed through and explored is an extremely good land.If the LORD is pleased with us, he will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and give it to us.Only don’t rebel against the LORD, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land, for we will devour them. Their protection has been removed from them, and the LORD is with us. Don’t be afraid of them!”While the whole community threatened to stone them, the glory of the LORD appeared to all the Israelites at the tent of meeting.

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them; and after having Jesus flogged, he handed him over to be crucified.

Nicodemus— the one who came to him previously and who was one of them— said to them,“ Our law doesn’t judge a man before it hears from him and knows what he’s doing, does it?”

because I greatly feared the crowds and because the contempt of the clans terrified me, so I grew silent and would not go outside?

my son, don’t travel that road with them or set foot on their path,

“ Do not act unjustly when deciding a case. Do not be partial to the poor or give preference to the rich; judge your neighbor fairly.

Do not show partiality when deciding a case; listen to small and great alike. Do not be intimidated by anyone, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”All the people answered,“ His blood be on us and on our children!”Then he released Barabbas to them and, after having Jesus flogged, handed him over to be crucified.

He replied,“ I have been very zealous for the LORD God of Armies, but the Israelites have abandoned your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left, and they are looking for me to take my life.”

But they kept up the pressure, demanding with loud voices that he be crucified, and their voices won out.So Pilate decided to grant their demand

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!”Aaron replied to them,“ Take off the gold rings that are on the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters and bring them to me.”So all the people took off the gold rings that were on their ears and brought them to Aaron.He took the gold from them, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it into an image of a calf. Then they said,“ Israel, these are your gods, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!”When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of it and made an announcement:“ There will be a festival to the LORD tomorrow.”

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t be persuaded.If they say—“ Come with us! Let’s set an ambush and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person just for fun!

Keep off the path of the wicked; don’t proceed on the way of evil ones.

After two years had passed, Porcius Festus succeeded Felix, and because Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, he left Paul in prison.

Although they know God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.

Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

He said,“ Don’t do this evil, my brothers.Look, I’ve got two daughters who haven’t been intimate with a man. I’ll bring them out to you, and you can do whatever you want to them. However, don’t do anything to these men, because they have come under the protection of my roof.”“ Get out of the way!” they said, adding,“ This one came here as an alien, but he’s acting like a judge! Now we’ll do more harm to you than to them.” They put pressure on Lot and came up to break down the door.

Saul and the troops spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and choice animals, as well as the young rams and the best of everything else. They were not willing to destroy them, but they did destroy all the worthless and unwanted things.

God saw how corrupt the earth was, for every creature had corrupted its way on the earth.

King Zedekiah said,“ Here he is; he’s in your hands since the king can’t do anything against you.”So they took Jeremiah and dropped him into the cistern of Malchiah the king’s son, which was in the guard’s courtyard, lowering Jeremiah with ropes. There was no water in the cistern, only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

who had not agreed with their plan and action. He was from Arimathea, a Judean town, and was looking forward to the kingdom of God.

“ My lord the king, these men have been evil in all they have done to the prophet Jeremiah. They have dropped him into the cistern where he will die from hunger, because there is no more bread in the city.”

Do not deny justice to a resident alien or fatherless child, and do not take a widow’s garment as security.

He answered me,“ The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is extremely great; the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity. For they say,‘ The LORD has abandoned the land; he does not see.’

“ Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”

He will judge your people with righteousness and your afflicted ones with justice.

Then the LORD said to Noah,“ Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.

The officials were angry at Jeremiah and beat him and placed him in jail in the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it had been made into a prison.

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face because he stood condemned.For he regularly ate with the Gentiles before certain men came from James. However, when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, because he feared those from the circumcision party.Then the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

Before they went to bed, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, the whole population, surrounded the house.

But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, replied to Paul,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem to be tried before me there on these charges?”

So King Zedekiah gave orders, and Jeremiah was placed in the guard’s courtyard. He was given a loaf of bread each day from the bakers’ street until all the bread was gone from the city. So Jeremiah remained in the guard’s courtyard.
