要注意看你自己和你的教導；要在這些事上持之有恆；因為你這樣行，既能救你自己，又能救聽你的人。

『你只要謹慎、極力謹守你自己，免得你忘記你親眼見過的事，免得這些事儘你一生的日子離開你的心：你總要講給你的子子孫孫知道——

不可和你們中間剩下的這些國的人攙雜通婚；他們的神的名、你們不可提；不可指着來起誓；不可事奉他們，不可跪拜他們，

『萬軍之永恆主發神諭說，當那日我必從這地剪除偶像的名字，叫那些名字不再被記念；假神言人和污穢之靈、我也必從這地除去。

我必從我人民口中除掉諸巴力的名號；他們必不再以其名號而被提起。

你們要小心關顧，免得有人在上帝的恩惠上趕不上；免得有苦恨之根長起來纏磨你們，許多人便由這個而被染污；

你們只要格外謹慎遵行永恆主的僕人摩西所吩咐你們的誡命律法，愛永恆主你們的上帝，行他一切的道路，遵守他的誡命，緊依附着他，全心全意地事奉他。』

那些急轉退後的、必增加自己的苦痛。他們流人血的奠祭、我不澆奠上；我的嘴脣也不提他們的名。

所以要仔細留意、你們怎樣地行；不要做無智慧的，總要做有智慧的人。

你們對自己要格外謹慎，愛永恆主你們的上帝。

他若堅心決意遵行我的誡命典章、像今日一樣，我就堅立他的國到永遠。」所以如今呢、在永恆主的大眾、以色列眾人面前、又在我們的上帝親耳聽見之下、你們務要謹守、研究永恆主你們的上帝的一切誡命，好取得這美地、去遺留給你們以後的子孫永遠為業。『你呢、我兒所羅門哪，你要認識永恆主你父的上帝，全心樂意地事奉他，因為永恆主究察萬人的心，他明白一切思想的計畫。你若尋求他，他就給你尋見；你若離棄他，他就永遠屏絕你。

因為他們隱密中所行的、就是說出來也可恥。

尼波、巴力免（以上的兩個名字有改了的）、西比瑪，又給他們所修建的城市另起了別名。

我曾說過：『我要約束我的行徑，免得我由舌頭而犯罪；儘惡人在我面前的時候，我總要約束我的口如同用籠套着。』

你們要對他們這麼說：『那沒有造天造地的神必從地上、從天下、被除滅。』

也要拆毁他們的祭壇，打碎他們的崇拜柱子；他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要用火去燒，他們的神的雕像你們要砍下來，要從那地方除滅他的名。

『所以為了你們自己的緣故、你們要格外謹慎，因為永恆主在何烈山從火中對你們說話的那一天、你們是沒有看見甚麼形像的；
