“ Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.

“ Do all your work in six days. But do not do any work on the seventh day. Then your oxen and donkeys can rest. The slaves born in your house can be renewed. And so can the outsiders who live among you.

“ Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant woman, and the alien, may be refreshed.

會堂管事因惱怒耶穌在安息日治病，就公然對羣眾說：『有六天應當作工；故此六天之內儘可以來治病，可不要在安息之日啊。』

『六日要勞碌，但第七日你就要休息；在耕種收割的時候、也要休息。

六日要勞碌，作你一切的工。但第七日是屬永恆主你的上帝的安息日；這一日、你跟你兒子和女兒、你奴僕和使女、你的牛、驢、和一切牲口、以及你城內的寄居者，一切的工都不可作，好叫你的奴僕和使女可以和你一樣歇息。你要記得你在埃及地也作過奴僕；永恆主你的上帝用大力的手和伸出的膀臂、將你從那裏領出來；故此永恆主你的上帝吩咐你要遵守安息日的制度。

六日要作工，但第七日卻是完全歇工的安息日，歸永恆主為聖的；凡在安息之日作工的、必須被處死。故此以色列人要守安息日，代代遵行安息日的制度、作為永遠的約。

他們說：「為甚麼我們禁食，而你不看呢？為甚麼我們刻苦自己，而你不理會呢？」嘿，你們禁食的日子、仍然追求所喜歡作的事！逕自壓迫一切為你們作苦工的人！

當安息日、在你們的一切住所、你們都不可生火。』
