六日要劳碌做你一切的工，但第七日是向耶和华—你的上帝当守的安息日。这一日，你和你的儿女、仆婢、牛、驴、牲畜，以及你城里寄居的客旅，都不可做任何的工，使你的仆婢可以和你一样休息。你要记念你在埃及地作过奴仆，耶和华—你的上帝用大能的手和伸出来的膀臂领你从那里出来。因此，耶和华—你的上帝吩咐你守安息日。

六日要做工，但第七日是向耶和华守完全安息的安息圣日。凡在安息日做工的，必被处死。’以色列人要守安息日，世世代代守安息日为永远的约。

“我们禁食，你为何不看呢？我们刻苦己心，你为何不理会呢？”看哪，你们禁食的时候仍追求私利，剥削为你们做苦工的人。

在安息日这一天，不可在你们一切的住处生火。”
