亞吉信大衛、自謂大衛在其故族以色列人中、已有惡名、必永為我僕、

若不獲盜、則當使代守之家主、至士師前、詰問曾取人之物否、凡失之物、無論牛羊驢衣服、若失主認為屬己者、當在士師前、兩造呈訴、聽士師判定、償之維倍、○

當於各邑主爾天主所賜爾者、循爾諸支派設立士師有司、使其秉公鞫民、

毋詈士師、或作毋褻瀆天主毋詛民長、○

撒母耳年邁、立其子為以色列士師、長子名約珥、次子名亞比亞、俱在別是巴為士師、

當時我命爾士師曰、爾聽訟於同族人間、或於同族人與外邦客旅間、當以公義判斷、

哈拿不上、謂夫曰、待子斷乳、我則攜之見於主前、使恆居其所、

爾於眾民中選才德兼備、敬畏天主、真實無妄、不貪財利者、立之為千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長、以治理斯民、又隨時審鞫民、凡有大事則陳於爾前、小事則彼自鞫之、如是、彼等與爾分任、則爾事簡易矣、爾若行是事、天主亦如是命爾、則爾可勝任、斯民亦可安然得所、摩西聽外舅之言、悉遵所語而行、在以色列人中、選有才德者、立為民之首、為千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長、彼即隨時鞫民、凡事之艱鉅者、陳於摩西前、事之小者、則自鞫之、

祭祀供獻、主不喜悅、主已啟我耳、火焚祭罪祭、非主所欲、我即云我來、在書卷載有論我之言、我天主歟、我樂遵主之旨意、主之律法、存在我心、

必使爾士師仍似曩時、使爾謀臣猶如昔日、厥後爾必得稱為善義之城、忠信之邑、
