“ Anyone who asks for something bad to happen to their father or mother must be put to death.

“ Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to death.

Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.“‘ If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife— with the wife of his neighbor— both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

“ The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures.

Jesus replied,“ And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?For God said,‘ Honor your father and mother’ and‘ Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is‘ devoted to God,’they are not to‘ honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
