起初，上帝創造天地。地是空虛混沌，深淵上面一片黑暗；上帝的靈運行在水面上。

這是我和以色列人之間永遠的記號，因為六日之內耶和華造天地，第七日就安息舒暢。」

他又對他們說：「安息日是為人設立的，人不是為安息日設立的。所以，人子也是安息日的主。」

七日的第一日，我們聚會擘餅的時候，保羅因次日要起行，就為他們講道，直講到半夜。

地的深處在他手中；山的高峯也屬他。海洋屬他，是他造的；旱地也是他手造成的。來啊，我們要俯伏敬拜，在造我們的耶和華面前跪拜。因為他是我們的上帝；我們是他草場的百姓，是他手中的羊。惟願你們今天聽他的話！

上帝賜福給他們，上帝對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿這地，治理它；要管理海裏的魚、天空的鳥和地上各樣活動的生物。」
