起初，神創造諸天和大地。那時大地空虛混沌，黑暗在淵面上，神的靈運行在水面上。

到第七日，神已經完成了他所做的工，就在第七日安息了，歇了他所做的一切工。神就祝福第七日，把它分別為聖，因為在這日，神安息了，歇了他所做的一切創造之工。

接著，耶穌對他們說：「安息日是為人而存在的，人不是為安息日而存在的。所以，人子是主，也是安息日的主。」

在一週的頭一天，門徒們聚集掰餅的時候，保羅向他們講論，因第二天就要離開，於是一直講到半夜。

大地的深處在他的手中，群山的高峰也屬於他；海洋屬於他，是他造的；陸地是他親手形成的。來吧！讓我們俯伏敬拜，在造我們的耶和華面前屈膝！因為他是我們的神，我們是他牧場的子民，是他手下的羊群。但願你們今天聽他的聲音：

神祝福他們，又對他們說：「要繁衍增多，充滿大地，並要制伏這地；也要管理海裡的魚、天空的飛鳥，以及在地上活動的一切生物。」
