希律没有把荣耀归给上帝，主的天使立刻惩罚他，他当场被虫子咬死了。上帝的道日见兴旺，越传越广。

埃及人苦待我们，压迫我们，强迫我们做奴隶。于是，我们呼求我们祖先的上帝耶和华。祂听见我们的呼求，看见我们的艰难、困苦和所受的压迫，

万军之耶和华的葡萄园就是以色列，祂所喜爱的葡萄树就是犹大人。祂希望看到公平，却只看见杀戮；指望看到公义，却只听见冤声。

希律死后，主的天使在梦中向在埃及的约瑟显现，说：“起来，带着孩子和祂母亲回以色列去吧！因为要杀害孩子的人已经死了。”

接着又说：“你现在怀了孕，将来会生一个男孩，你要给他取名叫以实玛利，因为耶和华已经听见你痛苦的哀声。

这是万军之耶和华在埃及的记号和凭据。埃及人因受到欺压就呼求耶和华，祂必差遣一位救主保护、拯救他们。

在苦难中我呼求耶和华，向我的上帝求助。祂从殿中垂听我的呼求，我的声音达到祂耳中。

于是，他们在患难中呼求耶和华，耶和华便拯救他们脱离困境。祂一发令，就医治了他们，救他们脱离死亡。

“不可亏待寡妇和孤儿，倘若你们欺凌他们，他们向我呼求，我必听他们的呼求，向你们发怒，用刀杀掉你们，使你们的妻子变为寡妇，儿女成为孤儿。“倘若有贫苦的同胞向你借钱，你不可像放债的一样从中取利。倘若他把衣服给你作抵押，你要在日落之前把衣服还给他。因为他只有这件蔽体的衣服，若是没有，他晚上如何睡觉？他若呼求我，我必定帮助他，因为我是仁慈的。

“你看见我们祖先在埃及所受的苦，又听见他们在红海边的呼求，

耶和华说：“你做了什么事？你弟弟的血从地里向我哭诉。

耶和华在米甸对摩西说：“你只管放心回埃及去，想害你性命的人都已经死了。”

你们要在每天日落前付给他们工钱，因为他们穷苦，靠工钱维生；否则他们向耶和华控诉你们，你们就有罪了。

耶和华对他们说：“你们受埃及人、亚摩利人、亚扪人、非利士人、西顿人、亚玛力人和马云人的压迫，就呼求我，我岂没有拯救你们吗？

“我卸下了你肩上的重担，使你的双手不再做苦工，你在苦难中向我呼求，我就拯救了你，从雷声隆隆的密云中应允了你。我在米利巴泉边考验你。（细拉）

耶和华说：“我要保护受欺压的困苦人和哀叹的贫穷人，使他们如愿以偿。”

但我们呼求耶和华，祂就垂听了我们的声音，差遣天使把我们领出埃及。现在我们来到你边境的加低斯城，

去见法老的时候，摩西八十岁，亚伦八十三岁。
