摩西聽見這話就逃走了，寄居於米甸地，在那裏生了兩個兒子。

傍晚時，眾女子出來打水，他就讓駱駝跪在城外的水井旁。

他觀看，看哪，田間有一口井，看哪，有三羣羊臥在井旁；因為人都取那井裏的水給羊喝。井口上的那塊石頭很大。

因着信，他離開埃及，不怕王的憤怒，因為他恆心忍耐，如同看見那不能看見的神。

雅各井就在那裏；耶穌因旅途疲乏，坐在井旁。那時約是正午。

有人在這城迫害你們，就逃到另一城去。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城鎮，你們還沒有走遍，人子就要來臨。

通達人見禍就藏躲；愚蒙人卻前往受害。

亞哈把以利亞一切所做的和他用刀殺眾先知的事都告訴耶洗別。耶洗別就派使者到以利亞那裏，說：「明日約這時候，我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一樣，願神明重重懲罰我。」以利亞害怕，就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，把僕人留在那裏。

以利亞聽見，就用外衣蒙臉，出來站在洞口。聽啊，有聲音向他說：「以利亞，你在這裏做甚麼？」他說：「我為耶和華－萬軍之神大發熱心，因為以色列人背棄了你的約，毀壞了你的壇，用刀殺了你的先知，只剩下我一人，他們還要追殺我。」

約雅敬王和他所有的勇士、官長聽見了烏利亞的話，王想要把他處死。烏利亞聽見就懼怕，逃往埃及去了。約雅敬王差亞革波的兒子以利拿單，帶領幾個人前往埃及。他們將烏利亞從埃及帶出來，解送到約雅敬王那裏；王用刀殺了他，把他的屍首拋在平民的墳地中。

她為他生了心蘭、約珊、米但、米甸、伊施巴和書亞。

以掃見以撒已經為雅各祝福，而且送他往巴旦‧亞蘭去，在那裏娶妻，並且見以撒祝福雅各的時候吩咐他說：「不要娶迦南的女子為妻」，又見雅各聽從父母的話往巴旦‧亞蘭去了，

米甸的兒子是以法、以弗、哈諾、亞比大和以勒大。這些都是基土拉的子孫。

耶和華在米甸對摩西說：「你要回埃及去，因為那些尋索你命的人都死了。」
