Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said,“ This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:

Then Moses went up to God. The Lord called out to him from the mountain. He said,“ Here is what I want you to say to my people, who belong to Jacob’s family. Tell the Israelites,

於是民遠立、惟摩西前、入於密雲、至天主前、

摩西登山、山被雲蔽、主之榮光顯於西乃山、雲蔽山六日、至第七日、主自雲中召摩西、主之榮光在山巔、狀如烈火、在以色列人目前、摩西入雲登山、摩西在山、歷四十晝夜、

當時我立在主及爾曹間、以主言告爾、蓋爾曹懼火、不敢登山、主云、我乃耶和華爾之天主、曾導爾出伊及爾為奴之地、我之外、毋敬別神、原文作毋於我前有別神或作毋敬別神以配我毋為己作偶像、上天下地、與地下水中百物、毋作其像、毋跪拜、毋崇事、蓋我耶和華爾之天主、乃忌邪之天主、或作不容人崇奉別神惡我者、我必討其罪、以及子孫、至三四代、愛我者、守我誡者、我賜之恩、至千代、毋妄稱爾天主耶和華之名、因妄稱耶和華名者、耶和華必不以之為無罪、或作斷無不罰當守安息日以為聖日、遵爾天主耶和華所命爾者、六日間可勤勞作爾諸工、第七日為爾天主耶和華之安息日、是日爾與子女奴婢及牛驢諸牲畜、並居爾邑之外邦客旅、無論何工、皆不可作、使爾奴婢安息、與爾無異、當追憶昔爾在伊及為奴、爾天主耶和華以大力大威導爾出、緣此爾天主耶和華命爾守安息日、遵爾天主耶和華所命、敬爾父母、使爾可久居享福於爾天主耶和華所賜爾之地、毋殺人、毋姦淫、毋偷竊、毋妄證以陷人、毋貪人之妻、毋貪人之宅、與田畝奴婢牛驢、及其凡所有者、以上諸言、主在山上由火中雲中幽暗中、大聲諭爾全會、此外無他言、主即將此言書於二石板而授於我、當時烈火焚山、聲由晦冥出、爾既聞之、爾支派牧伯及爾長老至我前、曰、主我之天主顯其榮光大威、俾我目睹、我儕又聞其聲由火中出、今日始知天主與人言、人猶得生存、然我恐此大火燬我、何必冒死、如我再聞主我天主之聲、則必死亡、世人中曾有何人、聽永生天主之聲由火中出、如我所聞而猶能生乎、請爾近前、聽主我之天主所言、爾以主我之天主所諭爾之言傳於我、我必聽從遵行、爾告我此言、主悉聞之、主諭我曰、斯民所言與爾者我聞之、所言甚善、願其常存此心畏我、恆守我諸誡命、則可與子孫永遠得福、爾往告民曰、爾曹俱當歸幕、惟爾摩西侍立我側、我以諸誡命律例法度示爾、爾當教之、俾行於我所賜彼為業之地、
