又派了以色列人中的青年人去獻燔祭，又向耶和華殺牛獻為平安祭。

原來有一大群人，很多是從以法蓮、瑪拿西、以薩迦和西布倫來的，還沒有自潔，就吃逾越節的羊羔，不遵照所記的定例；因此，希西家為他們禱告說：“凡是立定心意，專一尋求神耶和華他們列祖的神的，雖然沒有照著聖所潔淨的禮自潔，願良善的耶和華也饒恕他們。”

亞倫的兒子拿答和亞比戶各拿著自己的香爐，盛上火，加上香，在耶和華面前獻上平常的火，是耶和華沒有命令他們獻的。那時有火從耶和華面前出來，把他們燒滅，他們就死在耶和華面前。於是摩西對亞倫說：“這就是耶和華曾經告訴我們的，他說：‘在親近我的人中，我要顯為聖，在眾人面前，我要得榮耀。’”亞倫就默然無語。

他們到了拿艮的打禾場的時候，因為牛幾乎絆倒，烏撒就伸手扶住神的約櫃。耶和華的怒氣向烏撒發作；神因這錯誤的舉動，就當場擊殺他，他就死在神的約櫃旁邊。大衛因為耶和華擊殺了烏撒，就很生氣，因此稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。

現在你們若是實在聽我的話，遵守我的約，你們就必在萬民中作屬我的產業，因為全地都是我的。

摩西從山上下來到人民那裡去，使人民分別為聖，他們就把自己的衣服洗淨了。他對人民說：“第三天，你們要預備好了；不可親近女人。”

先前沒有你們，耶和華我們的神就擊打我們，因為我們沒有按照定例尋求他。”

亞拿尼亞一聽見這話，就仆倒斷了氣。所有聽見的人都十分害怕。

（但他們不能如期守逾越節，因為自潔的祭司不夠，人民也沒有齊集在耶路撒冷。）

因此，你們中間有許多人是軟弱的，患病的，而且死了（“死了”直譯作“睡了”）的也不少。我們若仔細省察自己，就不會受審判了。然而我們被主審判的時候，是受他的管教，免得和世人一同被定罪。

你們要離開，要離開，要從那裡出來，不要觸摸不潔淨的東西。扛抬耶和華器皿的啊！你們要從巴比倫城中出來，要自潔。

二月十四日，他們宰了逾越節的羊羔。祭司和利未人都覺得慚愧，就自潔，把燔祭帶到耶和華的殿裡。

他們到了基頓禾場的時候，因為牛失蹄絆倒，烏撒就伸手扶住約櫃。於是耶和華向烏撒發怒，因為烏撒伸手把約櫃扶住，所以神把他擊殺，他就在那裡死在神面前。大衛因耶和華忽然殺死烏撒，非常不悅，就稱那地方為毘列斯．烏撒，直到今日。

她立刻就仆倒在彼得腳前，斷了氣。那些青年人進來，發現她死了，把她也抬出去，埋在她丈夫旁邊。
