恐怖震懾襲擊了他們。永恆主啊，因你膀臂之大能力，他們竟如石頭寂然不動，等你的人民過去，等你所獲得的人民過去。

求你記起你的會眾、你往古所獲得，你所贖回、做你產業之族派的；求你記起錫安山，你向來所居住的。

對他們說：『我知道永恆主已經把這地賜給你們，並且有一種懼怕你們的恐怖情緒落到我們心裏，而且這地所有的居民因你們的緣故都膽戰心驚。

就在今日、我就要開始叫普天下聽見你名聲的萬族民都震懾你懼怕你，以致因你而發顫絞痛。」

到了早晨，拿八酒醉退了，他妻子才將這些事告訴他，他的心在五內就如死去，他就像石頭一般。

在你們面前必沒有一個人能站立得住；永恆主你們的上帝必使你們所要踏的地的居民震懾你們、懼怕你們，照他所告訴過你們的。

他為我們把自己獻出，好贖放我們脫離一切不法之行為，並潔淨我們做子民、歸他自己為產業，在好事上熱心。

因為永恆主贖救了雅各，贖回了他脫離比他強的人的手。

但從前在民間竟有了假的神言人呢；照樣子、在你們中間也必有假的教師。這種人必私下引進使人滅亡的派別來，連買他們的主、他們也否認，自己引着迅速快到的滅亡。

但你們呢、你們乃是蒙揀選的族類，是王家的祭司班，是聖別的邦國，是子民做上帝產業的，要叫你們宣揚那召了你們出黑暗而進入他奇妙之光者的神德。

他必保護他堅貞之民的腳步，使惡人在黑暗中消滅死寂；因為人得勝、不是靠着勢力。

但是對以色列中的眾子、無論是人是牲口，連狗也不敢向他們鼓舌吠一聲，好叫你們知道永恆主是將埃及人和以色列人分別出來的。

如今你們若留心聽我的聲音，守我的約，你們就可以在萬族之民中做屬我的產業，因為全地都是我的。你們要歸我做祭司之國，做聖別之邦」：這些話是你所應當對以色列人說的。』

那使海乾旱，使大深淵的水乾涸，使海的深處變為受贖回之民經過之路的、不是你麼？

但永恆主的分兒就是他的子民；他的業分乃是雅各。

地上有哪一國能比得上你人民以色列呢？有哪一國有神去贖救它、作為自己的子民，而為自己立名，為他們行大而可畏懼的事，又從他人民面前趕逐外國人和他們的神呢？

但現在呢、雅各啊，那創造你的永恆主、以色列啊，那形成你的主、這麼說：『你不要懼怕，因為我贖回了你；我呼喚你的名召了你；你是我的。你從水中經過，我必與你同在；你逿過江河，水不漫過你；你從火中行過，必不被燙傷，火燄也不着在你身上。因為我永恆主是你的上帝，是以色列之聖者，是拯救你的。我使埃及做你的贖價，使古實和示巴做你的替身。

聖靈在全羣中立你們做監督，你們要關顧到自己、以及全羣，牧養主的教會，就是他用自己的血所取得來的。

我必施展我的威風做你的前驅；凡你所到的地方、我必使那裏的眾民都潰亂；使你一切的仇敵都轉背而逃。

愚昧無知的人民哪，你們這樣報答永恆主麼？他豈不是你的父、那製作你的麼？是他造你、建立了你。
