上帝啊，海水看見你就戰慄，深淵看見你就顫抖。雲層倒出雨水，天上雷霆霹靂，電光四射。旋風中傳來你的雷聲，你的閃電照亮世界，大地顫抖震動。你的道路穿越海洋，經過洪濤，但你的足跡無人看見。

耶和華走在他們前面，白天用雲柱為他們指示道路，晚上用火柱照亮他們，這樣他們可以日夜趕路。

耶和華在天上打雷，至高者發出的聲音響徹在冰雹和火炭中。祂射出利箭驅散仇敵，發出閃電擊潰他們。

但祂若保持緘默，誰能定祂有罪？祂若掩起臉來，誰能看得見祂？個人和國家都靠祂垂顧，

所以，我在祂面前驚恐不安。我想起這事，便對祂充滿恐懼。上帝使我心驚膽戰，全能者使我驚恐不安。

他們看見這城後，大驚失色，慌忙逃跑。

祂一看大地，大地就震動；祂一摸群山，群山就冒煙。

這時，在以色列人前面領路的上帝的天使，轉到百姓後面，雲柱也隨著移到後面立住。雲柱停在埃及軍隊和以色列人的中間，埃及軍隊這邊一片黑暗，以色列人那邊卻有光，雙方整夜都無法接近對方。

第二天，掃羅把以色列人分成三隊，在黎明時分突襲亞捫人的軍營，把他們殺得大敗，直到中午才收兵。亞捫人的殘兵四散奔逃。

你卻說，『上帝知道什麼？祂怎能隔著幽暗施行審判？

祂使他們戰車的輪子脫落，難以前行。於是，埃及人說：「我們逃命吧，因為耶和華在幫助以色列人對付我們！」
