若山羊和公牛的血，以及母牛犢的灰，灑在不潔的人身上，尚且使人成聖，身體潔淨，何況基督的血，他藉着永遠的靈把自己無瑕疵地獻給神，更能洗淨我們的良心，除去致死的行為，好事奉那位永生的神。

你們知道，你們得以從你們祖先傳下來虛妄的行為中救贖出來，不是靠着會朽壞的金銀等物，而是憑着基督的寶血，如同無瑕疵、無玷污的羔羊的血。

行詭詐的人是可詛咒的！他的羣畜中雖有公羊，他許了願，卻將有殘疾的獻給主。因我是大君王，我的名在列國中是可畏的。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

這樣一位聖潔、無邪惡、無玷污、遠離罪人、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們是最合適的；

搖這捆的那一日，你們要獻一隻一歲沒有殘疾的小公綿羊，給耶和華作燔祭。

「你要吩咐亞倫和他子孫，以及以色列眾人，對他們說：以色列家中的人，或在以色列中寄居的，若要獻供物給耶和華作燔祭，無論是為所許的願或是甘心獻的，就要將一頭公的，沒有殘疾的牛，或綿羊，或山羊獻上，這樣你們才蒙悅納。凡有殘疾的，你們不可獻上，因為這樣你們必不蒙悅納。若有人從牛羣或羊羣中，將平安祭獻給耶和華，無論是為還所許特別的願，或是甘心獻的，所獻的必須是健康、無任何殘疾的，才蒙悅納。凡瞎眼的、受傷的、斷腿的、潰爛的、長癬的、長疥的，都不可獻給耶和華，不可在壇上作為火祭獻給耶和華。無論是公牛或小綿羊，若一條腿太長或太短，只可作甘心祭獻上；若用來還願，就不蒙悅納。凡睪丸損傷，或壓碎，或破裂，或閹割的，都不可獻給耶和華；不可在你們的地上行這事。

「人的供物若以綿羊或山羊為燔祭，要獻一隻沒有殘疾的公羊。

「凡有殘疾，有任何惡疾的牛羊，你都不可獻給耶和華－你的神，因為這是耶和華－你神所憎惡的。

「他的供物若以牛為燔祭，要獻一頭沒有殘疾的公牛，獻在會幕的門口，他就可以在耶和華面前蒙悅納。

「你們將不潔淨的食物獻在我的祭壇上，卻說：『我們在何事上使你不潔淨呢？』你們說，耶和華的供桌是可藐視的。你們將瞎眼的獻為祭物，這不算為惡嗎？將瘸腿的、有病的獻上，這不算為惡嗎？那麼，請把這些獻給你的省長，他豈會悅納你，豈會抬舉你呢？這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

掃羅登基的時候年三十歲，作以色列王二年。
