摩西就向埃及地伸了手杖，那天一整天、那夜一整夜、永恆主引了東風到那地來；到了早晨，東風把蝗蟲都颳了來。

So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts;

他吩咐一聲，狂風就起立，海中的波浪就揚起。他們上到天空，下到深淵底，他們的神魂都因危難而消失。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他們的技能都被吞沒於無用。於是他們在急難中喊求永恆主帶領他們脫出他們的窘迫；

他領了東風吹於天空，又用能力將南風引來。

那些人都希奇說：『這是甚麼樣的人啊？連風跟海也聽從他！』

日出時，上帝又安排了炎熱的東風，日頭曬了約拿的頭，以致他暈過去，他就為自己求死，說：『我死了比活着還好。』

他說一聲，蝗蟲就來，蝻子也來，不計其數；

然而永恆主卻將大風拋擲在海上，海上就起了大風暴；船很像要破壞的樣子。

火與冰雹，雪和煙氣，執行他的命令的狂風，

摩西向海伸手，永恆主便終夜用極強的東風使海退去；他使海成了旱地；水也裂開了。

隨後又發生了七個穗子，又細瘦，又被熱東風吹焦了。
