文書中王准一省一省的猶大人在一日之間、在十二月、就是亞達月、十三日、都可以聚集，站起來保護自己的性命，將任何族任何省分要攻擊他們、的一切軍兵、連小孩和婦女、全都消滅、屠殺滅盡，並且奪取他們的資財作為掠物。

我的舌頭要終日不斷地表揚你的義氣。因為那些謀求要害我的已被挫折受辱了。

願那些控告我的、慚愧而消沒；願那些謀求害我的、披上侮辱羞慚。

萬族之民哪，明白吧，你們終必驚慌；遠地之眾民哪，側耳以聽哦！束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌；束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌。

他們便起行，隨有極大的驚慌佈滿了四圍的城市，他們就不追趕雅各的兒子了。

十個人，就是哈米大他的孫子、哈曼的兒子猶大人的敵人：至於掠物呢、猶大人卻沒有下手去拿。

對他們說：『我知道永恆主已經把這地賜給你們，並且有一種懼怕你們的恐怖情緒落到我們心裏，而且這地所有的居民因你們的緣故都膽戰心驚。

因為使他們的心頑強、來對以色列人接戰的、是出於永恆主，要把他們盡行殺滅歸神，使他們不得恩待，反而被消滅掉，正如永恆主所吩咐摩西的。

我必施展我的威風做你的前驅；凡你所到的地方、我必使那裏的眾民都潰亂；使你一切的仇敵都轉背而逃。

亞達月十四日、在書珊的猶大人也聚集攏來，在書珊殺了三百人；至於掠物、他們卻沒有下手去拿。在王各省其餘的猶大人也都聚集，站起來保護自己的性命，脫離他們的仇敵、得享平安，殺了恨惡他們的人七萬五千名；至於掠物、他們卻沒有下手去拿：這是在亞達月十三日的事。在十四日他們就休息，以十四日一天作為宴飲歡樂的日子。但在書珊的猶大人乃是在十三十四日聚集殺敵的；他們是在十五日休息，以十五日這一天作為宴飲歡樂的日子的。

但是希實本王西宏不情願容我們從他那裏經過，因為永恆主你的上帝使他的靈剛愎、心意頑固，為要將他交在你手中、像今日一樣。
