文書上寫著：王准許在各城的猶大人，可以聚集起來，保護自己的性命；也可以毀滅、殺盡和滅絕那些敵對猶大人的各族和各省的勢力，包括婦孺，並且可以掠奪他們的財產；

哈曼把他的富貴榮華、兒女的眾多，以及王怎樣使他尊大，怎樣抬舉他在王的眾領袖和眾臣僕之上的一切事，都數說給他們聽。

凡是你的東西，就是一根線，一條鞋帶，我也不拿，免得你說：‘我使亞伯蘭發了財。’

他們把他從光明中趕到黑暗裡，又把他從世界中趕出去。在本族中他無子無孫，在他寄居之地，也沒有生存的人。

這是惡人從神所得的分，強暴的人從全能者所得的業。即使他的兒女增多，還是被刀劍所殺，他的子孫也必永不得飽食；他的遺族在死人中埋葬，他的寡婦也都不哀哭。

不可跪拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華你們的神是忌邪的神；恨惡我的，我必追討他們的罪，從父親到兒子，直到三四代。

摩西又說：“向耶和華的旌旗舉手，耶和華必世世代代和亞瑪力人爭戰。”

最後，弟兄們，凡是真實的、莊重的、公正的、純潔的、可愛的、聲譽好的，無論是甚麼美德，甚麼稱讚，這些事你們都應當思念。

亞達月十四日，在書珊的猶大人又聚集起來，在書珊殺了三百人，卻沒有下手掠奪他們的財物。在王各省其餘的猶大人，也都聚集起來，保護自己的性命，向他們的仇敵報復，殺了恨他們的人共七萬五千；至於財物，他們卻沒有下手掠奪。

以斯帖回答：“這敵人和仇人，就是這惡人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前立刻驚惶萬分。

願無人對他施仁慈；願無人恩待他的孤兒。願他的後人被除滅，願他們的名字在下一代被塗抹。

因為我和我的族人被人出賣，快要毀滅，被殺盡、滅絕了。我們若是只被賣為奴婢，我也必閉口不言，但王的損失是敵人不能補償的。”

不可以惡報惡。大家以為美的事，要努力去作。

你必從地上除滅他們的子孫，從人間除滅他們的後裔。

這事以後，亞哈隨魯王使亞甲族哈米大他的兒子哈曼晉陞；王提拔他，使他的地位高過所有與他在一起的大臣。
