He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.

Mordecai also gave Hathak a copy of the order. It commanded people to wipe out the Jews. The order had been sent from Susa. Mordecai told Hathak to show the order to Esther. He wanted Hathak to explain it to her. Mordecai told him to tell her to go and beg the king for mercy. Mordecai wanted her to make an appeal to the king for her people.

Mordecai also gave him a copy of the written decree issued in Susa for their destruction, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her and command her to go to the king to beg his favor and plead with him on behalf of her people.

如果掌權者向你發怒，你不要離開原位，因為柔順能免大過。

以斯帖照著末底改吩咐她的，沒有把自己的身世和種族告訴人；末底改所說的話，以斯帖都遵行，就像昔日養育她的時候一樣。

諭文抄本頒行各省，通告各族，使他們準備好這一天。驛使奉王命急忙出發，御旨從書珊城頒布出去。那時王與哈曼又同坐共飲，書珊城的居民卻非常慌亂。

當時希律對推羅和西頓人懷怒在心。這兩地的人因為他們的地區都需要從王的領土得到糧食，就先拉攏了王的內侍臣伯拉斯都，然後同心地去見希律，要向他求和。

我在賜生命給萬物的神面前，並那在本丟．彼拉多面前見證過美好的信仰的基督耶穌面前囑咐你，

王后以斯帖回答，說：“我若是在你眼前蒙恩，王若是喜歡，我所要的，是要王把我的性命賜給我；我所求的，是求王把我的族人賜給我。因為我和我的族人被人出賣，快要毀滅，被殺盡、滅絕了。我們若是只被賣為奴婢，我也必閉口不言，但王的損失是敵人不能補償的。”

因為我怎忍看見我的同胞受害呢？我怎忍看見我的族人消滅呢？”

君王的心在耶和華手中，好像水溝的水，他可以隨意轉移。

對王說：“願王萬歲，我列祖墳墓所在的城成了荒蕪之地，城門被火焚毀，我怎能不面帶愁容呢？”王問我：“你想要甚麼呢？”我就向天上的神禱告，然後對王說：“如果王認為好，僕人能在你面前蒙恩寵，就請你差派我往猶大，到我列祖墳墓所在的城去，讓我重建那城。”

君王的烈怒好像死亡的使者，唯有智慧人能平息君王的怒氣。君王臉上欣悅的光采，使人得生命；君王的恩寵好像春日雨雲。

你要囑咐那些今世富有的人，叫他們不要心高氣傲，也不要寄望在浮動的財富上，卻要仰望那厚賜百物給我們享用的神。
