作妻子的要順服自己的丈夫，如同順服主基督。因為丈夫是妻子的頭，正如基督是祂的身體——教會的頭，又是教會的救主。教會怎樣順服基督，妻子也要照樣凡事順服丈夫。

我不准女人教導或管轄男人，她們應當保持安靜。

這樣，她們就能教導年輕的婦女愛丈夫、愛兒女、自制、貞潔，持家、和善、順服丈夫，免得上帝的道被人毀謗。

但在教會中我寧可用悟性說五句教導人的話，勝過說萬句別人不懂的方言。弟兄姊妹，你們的思想不要像小孩子，要長大成熟，但在罪惡的事上要像嬰孩。

尼布甲尼撒王傳諭天下各族、各邦、各語種的人：「願你們大享平安！

「主人誇獎這個不義的管家精明。因為今世的兒女在處理世事方面比光明的兒女更精明。

現在我下令，不論何民、何邦、何族，若譭謗沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌的上帝，必被碎屍萬段，他們的家必淪為廢墟，因為沒有別的神明能這樣施行拯救。」
