要穿戴上帝所賜的全副軍裝，以便能夠抵擋魔鬼的陰謀。因為我們爭戰的對象不是這世上的血肉之軀，而是在這黑暗世界執政的、掌權的、管轄的和天上屬靈的邪惡勢力。因此，你們要用上帝所賜的全副軍裝裝備自己，好在邪惡的時代抵擋仇敵，到爭戰結束後依舊昂首挺立。務要站穩，用真理當作帶子束腰，以公義當作護心鏡遮胸，把和平的福音當作鞋子穿在腳上準備行動。此外，還要拿起信心的盾牌，好滅盡惡者一切的火箭。要戴上救恩的頭盔，緊握聖靈的寶劍——上帝的話。

我們爭戰的兵器不是屬血氣的，乃是從上帝而來的能力，可以摧毀堅固的營壘，

要愛惜光陰，因為現今是個邪惡的世代。

你們要時刻警醒，常常禱告，使你們能逃過這一切將要發生的災難，並能站在人子面前。」

種子落在蓋著淺土的石頭地上是指人聽了道，欣然接受了，但是沒有根基，只是暫時相信，一遇到試煉就放棄了；

因為你遵守我有關堅忍的教導，所以當將來的試煉臨到全人類的時候，我必使你免受磨難。

然而，祂來臨的日子，誰能承受得了呢？祂出現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為祂像煉金之火，又像漂白衣裳的鹼。

年輕時要記住你的創造主，不要等到衰老的歲月來臨時才哀歎：「我的日子毫無樂趣。」

你們以為災難的日子離得還遠，就大肆施行暴政。

因為祂們發烈怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？」

來自你們那裡、作基督耶穌奴僕的以巴弗弟兄問候你們。他常常懇切地為你們禱告，好使你們信心堅定，生命成熟，深知上帝一切的旨意。

不要被虛空的道理欺騙，因為上帝的烈怒必臨到上述那些悖逆的人。
