今夫賽拳角力之人、靡不聚精會神、勉強克制。彼所求者、乃一易敝之冠耳；況在吾人追求不朽之冠乎？故予之競走、非無目的、予之揮拳、非無對象、予且痛鞭吾身、使之馴伏、蓋恐傳道於人而己遭擯棄也。

蓋吾深信無論死也、生也、天神也、權威也、現在之事也、未來之事也、宇宙間之一切勢力也、

既有見證如雲、萬目睽睽、監臨左右、吾人尚可不以堅忍之志、奮赴前程、徹除一切障礙、解脫罪孽之羈絆、

可頌哉、吾主耶穌基督之天主聖父也。天主已以諸天一切靈祉、因基督而沛加於吾人之身矣

我告兄弟、血肉不能承天主國、朽者不能承不朽也。

超軼乎一切爵、權、德、統、諸品天神、及今世來世一切可名之名之上。

不惟世人、即天上之爵權諸品天神、亦有賴於教會、始得窺見天主神妙不測之智慧，

基督今已昇天、位於天主右、一切天神及權德諸品、莫不翕然順服、統於一尊。

曰『爾等當勉入窄門。予實語爾、欲入而不得入者、眾矣。
