但是我願你們知道：基督是每一個男人的頭，男人是女人的頭，而神是基督的頭。凡是男人在禱告或做先知傳道的時候，如果蒙著頭，就是羞辱自己的頭；凡是女人在禱告或做先知傳道的時候，如果不蒙著頭，就是羞辱自己的頭，因為這與頭髮被剃掉了是同樣一件事。要知道，女人如果不遮蓋自己，她就應該連頭髮也剪掉；但既然女人剪掉頭髮或剃掉頭髮是可恥的，她就應該遮蓋自己。男人本來不應該遮蓋著頭，因為他是神的形像和榮耀，而女人是男人的榮耀。原來男人不是由女人而出，女人卻是由男人而出；並且男人不是為女人而造，女人卻是為男人而造。因此，為了天使的緣故，應該有權柄在女人的頭之上。

他是身體的頭，就是教會的頭，他是元始，是從死人中首先復活的，為要使他能在萬有中居首位，

我們卻要在愛中說真話，在一切事上向著他長進；他就是頭，是基督。

神又使萬有都服從在基督的腳下，使基督為教會做了超越萬有的元首。教會是他的身體，是在萬有中充滿萬有的那一位的豐盛完美。

你們做丈夫的，要愛自己的妻子，就像基督也愛了教會，為她捨棄了自己。基督這麼做，是要藉著話語，用水的洗滌而潔淨教會，使她分別為聖，

他們唱著一首新歌，說：「你配接受那書卷，配打開它的封印，因為你曾被殺，用自己的血，從各支派、各語言群體、各民族、各國家，為神贖回了人，

「食物是為了肚子，肚子是為了食物」，但神將要把這兩樣都廢除。身體不是為了淫亂，而是為了主；主也是為了身體。

並且等候他那從天降臨的兒子，就是神使他從死人中復活的耶穌——他拯救我們脫離那將要來臨的震怒。

你們當為自己謹慎，也當為全體羊群謹慎。聖靈把你們放在這羊群裡做監督，為要牧養神的教會，就是他用自己的血所贖來的。
