“ In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Scripture says,“ When you are angry, do not sin.”( Psalm 4:4) Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

And“ don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

[ He that is] slow to wrath[ is] of great understanding: but[ he that is] hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts[ also].And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.This[ is] the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and[ so] the plague was stayed.And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.They angered[ him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched[ it] out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they[ are set] on mischief.

But when Jesus saw[ it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing[ to answer].Also I said, It[ is] not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?I likewise,[ and] my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth[ part] of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.Then said they, We will restore[ them], and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw[ it], he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

The north wind driveth away rain: so[ doth] an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

At his day thou shalt give[ him] his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he[ is] poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
