I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will establish and multiply them and will set My sanctuary among them forever.

What am I saying then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?No, but I do say that what they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. I do not want you to participate with demons!

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace,

“ Men! Why are you doing these things? God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

About eating food offered to idols, then, we know that“ an idol is nothing in the world,” and that“ there is no God but one.”For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth— as there are many“ gods” and many“ lords”—yet for us there is one God, the Father. All things are from Him, and we exist for Him. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. All things are through Him, and we exist through Him.

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He is pure.

“ This is what the Lord says: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night so that day and night cease to come at their regular time,then also My covenant with My servant David may be broken so that he will not have a son reigning on his throne, and the Levitical priests will not be My ministers.The hosts of heaven cannot be counted; the sand of the sea cannot be measured. So, too, I will make the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who minister to Me innumerable.”The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:“ Have you not noticed what these people have said? They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.Although they know full well God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.
