「人心比萬物都詭詐，壞到極處，誰能識透呢？

判罪之後不立刻執行，所以世人滿懷作惡的心思。

我專心想要明白智慧，想要明白狂妄與愚昧，方知這也是捕風。

裝滿了各樣不義、邪惡、貪婪、惡毒，滿心是嫉妒、兇殺、紛爭、詭詐、毒恨，又是毀謗的、說人壞話的、怨恨神的、侮辱人的、狂傲的、自誇的、製造是非的、忤逆父母的、頑梗不化的、言而無信的、無情無義的、不憐憫人的。

我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受迷惑，作各樣私慾和宴樂的奴隸，在惡毒、嫉妒中度日，是可恨的，而且彼此相恨。

塵土仍歸於地，像原來一樣，氣息仍歸於賜氣息的神。

他卻為自己的過犯受了責備，而那不能說話的驢以人的聲音阻止了先知的狂妄。

何況那污穢可憎，喝罪孽如水的世人呢！

保羅這樣申訴時，非斯都大聲說：「保羅，你瘋了！你的學問太大，反使你瘋了！」

他醒悟過來，就說：『我父親有多少雇工，糧食有餘，我倒在這裏餓死嗎？

他們怒氣填胸，彼此商議怎樣對付耶穌。

惡人因所行的惡必被推倒；義人臨死，有所投靠。

我轉念，一心要知道，要考察，要尋求智慧和萬事的來由，要知道邪惡為愚昧，愚昧為狂妄。

看哪，我是在罪孽裏生的，在我母親懷胎的時候就有了罪。

凡臨到眾人的際遇都一樣：義人和惡人，好人，潔淨的人和不潔淨的人，獻祭的和不獻祭的，都一樣。好人如何，罪人也如何；起誓的如何，怕起誓的也如何。

因為出於心裏的有種種惡念，如兇殺、姦淫、淫亂、偷盜、偽證、毀謗。這些才玷污人。至於不洗手吃飯，那並不玷污人。」

希律不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。

耶和華聞了那馨香之氣，耶和華心裏說：「我不再因人的緣故詛咒土地，因為人從幼年就心裏懷着惡念；我也不再照我曾做的毀滅一切生物了。

在各會堂，我屢次用刑強迫他們說褻瀆的話，我非常厭惡他們，甚至追逼他們，直到外邦的城鎮。」

耶和華見人在地上罪大惡極，終日心裏所想的盡都是惡事，
