我就说，智慧胜过勇力；然而那贫穷人的智慧被人藐视，他的话也无人听从。

我就說，智慧勝過勇力；然而那貧窮人的智慧被人藐視，他的話也無人聽從。

我則曰、智愈於力、然貧者之智、為人蔑視、言不見聽、

我竊思之、智愈於力、貧者之智、為人藐忽、不從其言。

我自言曰、智慧雖愈於勇力、貧者之智慧仍被人藐忽、不聽其言、

So I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.

So I said,“ It’s better to be wise than to be powerful.” But people look down on the poor man’s wisdom. No one pays any attention to what he says.

But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.

So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.

And I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”

So I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are ignored.

Then I said:“ Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, And his words are not heard.

Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

And I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”

Then said I, Wisdom[ is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom[ is] despised, and his words are not heard.

So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, but a poor man’s wisdom is despised; no one ever listens to his advice.

Then I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

智慧使有智慧的人比城中十个官长更有能力。

智慧人大有能力；有知识的人力上加力。

智慧人爬上勇士的城墙，倾覆他所倚靠的坚垒。

到了安息日，他在会堂里教训人。众人听见，就甚希奇，说：“这人从哪里有这些事呢？所赐给他的是什么智慧？他手所做的是何等的异能呢？这不是那木匠吗？不是马利亚的儿子雅各、约西、犹大、西门的长兄吗？他妹妹们不也是在我们这里吗？”他们就厌弃他。

智慧胜过打仗的兵器；但一个罪人能败坏许多善事。

富户的财物是他的坚城；穷人的贫乏是他的败坏。

法利赛人说：“你们也受了迷惑吗？官长或是法利赛人岂有信他的呢？但这些不明白律法的百姓是被咒诅的！”

弟兄们哪，可见你们蒙召的，按着肉体有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊贵的也不多。神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。神也拣选了世上卑贱的，被人厌恶的，以及那无有的，为要废掉那有的，使一切有血气的，在神面前一个也不能自夸。

所以法利赛人第二次叫了那从前瞎眼的人来，对他说：“你该将荣耀归给神，我们知道这人是个罪人。”他说：“他是个罪人不是，我不知道；有一件事我知道，从前我是眼瞎的，如今能看见了。”他们就问他说：“他向你做什么？是怎么开了你的眼睛呢？”他回答说：“我方才告诉你们，你们不听，为什么又要听呢？莫非你们也要作他的门徒吗？”他们就骂他说：“你是他的门徒；我们是摩西的门徒。神对摩西说话是我们知道的；只是这个人，我们不知道他从哪里来！”那人回答说：“他开了我的眼睛，你们竟不知道他从哪里来，这真是奇怪！我们知道神不听罪人，惟有敬奉神、遵行他旨意的，神才听他。从创世以来，未曾听见有人把生来是瞎子的眼睛开了。这人若不是从神来的，什么也不能做。”他们回答说：“你全然生在罪孽中，还要教训我们吗？”于是把他赶出去了。

若有一个人带着金戒指，穿着华美衣服，进你们的会堂去；又有一个穷人穿着肮脏衣服也进去；你们就重看那穿华美衣服的人，说：“请坐在这好位上”；又对那穷人说：“你站在那里”，或“坐在我脚凳下边。”这岂不是你们偏心待人，用恶意断定人吗？我亲爱的弟兄们，请听，神岂不是拣选了世上的贫穷人，叫他们在信上富足，并承受他所应许给那些爱他之人的国吗？你们反倒羞辱贫穷人。那富足人岂不是欺压你们、拉你们到公堂去吗？
