因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。

人不自知其時、魚入於網、鳥罹於羅、患難猝臨之日、世人陷於其中、亦若是也、○

譬彼水族羽族、猝罹網羅、人遘飛殃、出於莫測者亦若是。

時勢或作終局如何、人不得知、如魚之入網、網原文作惡網如鳥之入羅、禍患忽臨於人、而人陷其中亦若是、○

Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

No one knows when trouble will come to them. Fish are caught in nets. Birds are taken in traps. And people are trapped by hard times that come when they don’t expect them.

For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.

People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.

For certainly no one knows his time: like fish caught in a cruel net or like birds caught in a trap, so people are trapped in an evil time as it suddenly falls on them.

For indeed, a person does not know his time: like fish that are caught in a treacherous net and birds caught in a snare, so the sons of mankind are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.

For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, Like birds caught in a snare, So the sons of men are snared in an evil time, When it falls suddenly upon them.

For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

Surely, no one knows his appointed time! Like fish that are caught in a deadly net, and like birds that are caught in a snare– just like them, all people are ensnared at an unfortunate time that falls upon them suddenly.

For man also doesn’t know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

惡人因過犯而落入陷阱，而義人將會歡唱、歡喜。

當人們正說「和平」、「安全」的時候，毀滅那時就突然臨到他們，就像孕婦的臨產陣痛那樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

遵守誡命的人必不遭遇禍患，智慧人的心懂得時機和次序；一切事務都有時機和次序，儘管有禍患重壓在人身上。沒有人知道將來發生什麼事，因為誰能告訴人將來發生什麼呢？

「你們要謹慎自守，免得你們的心因宴樂、醉酒和今生的憂慮變得遲鈍，那日子就會像網羅一樣突然臨到你們，因為那日子將要臨到所有住在全地面上的人。你們要時刻警醒、禱告，使你們能夠逃避這一切將要發生的事，好站立在人子面前。」

不過你們應當知道這一點：一家的主人如果知道賊什麼時候來，就不會讓他的房子被人鑽進。

因為沒有迅速執行對惡行的判決，所以世人的心裡就充滿了作惡的念頭；

你確實把他們放在易滑之地，使他們仆倒滅亡。他們怎麼在一瞬間就成了廢墟呢？他們被恐怖的事徹底掃除！人醒來時怎樣輕視夢，主啊，你醒起時，也會怎樣輕視夢幻般的他們！

「在挪亞的那些日子裡發生的怎樣，在人子的那些日子裡也將要怎樣：人們繼續吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亞進方舟的那一天，洪水到來，把一切都毀滅了。同樣，就像在羅得的那些日子裡發生的那樣：人們繼續吃喝、買賣、耕種、建造，到了羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，烈火和硫磺就從天而降，把一切都毀滅了。人子顯現的那一天，也將是同樣的。在那一天，在屋頂上的人，如果東西在屋子裡，不要下來拿；同樣，在田裡的人，也不要轉回到背後的事上。

他立刻跟隨那女人，如同公牛走向屠場，如同愚妄人戴著腳鐐去受懲罰；直到箭射穿他的肝臟——他就像雀鳥快速進入網羅，他卻不明白，這會賠上自己的性命。

因此他的災難將突然臨到，他頃刻之間將被摧毀，無法挽回。

他必向惡人密布網羅，火、硫磺、灼熱的風是他們杯中的份。

說：「巴不得你在這日子裡明白關乎你和平的事，但如今這事在你眼前被隱藏了。因為日子將臨到你，你的敵人要築起壁壘包圍你，四面困住你。而且，他們要將你和你裡面的兒女猛摔在地，不容你裡面有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上，因為你沒有認出神臨到你的時候。」

「可是神對他說：『你這愚妄的人哪！今夜，他們就要召回你的靈魂了。那麼，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

你們在外邦人中，要有良好的品行；這樣，當他們誹謗你們是作惡之人的時候，因看到你們美好的行為，就在神臨到的日子榮耀神。

所以這罪孽對你們就像高牆上的破口，牆體凸出，快要倒塌——頃刻之間，崩毀就突然臨到；

但這些人就像沒有理性的動物，生來就是靠本能的，是為了捕捉和宰殺的；他們褻瀆自己所不明白的，也將在自己的衰朽中被毀滅。

因為他說：「在悅納的時候，我垂聽了你；在拯救的日子，我幫助了你。」看哪！現在就是悅納的時候；看哪！現在就是拯救的日子。

這樣，那些被魔鬼擄去、隨從魔鬼意思的人，就能醒悟過來，脫離魔鬼的網羅。
