As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.

No one can stop the wind from blowing. And no one has the power to decide when they will die. No one is let out of the army in times of war. And evil won’t let go of those who practice it.

No man has power to retain the spirit, or power over the day of death. There is no discharge from war, nor will wickedness deliver those who are given to it.

None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked.

No one has authority over the wind to restrain it, and there is no authority over the day of death; no one is discharged during battle, and wickedness will not allow those who practice it to escape.

既然人的日子限定，他的月數在於你，你劃定他的界限，他不能越過；

你們曾說：「我們已與死亡立約，與陰間結盟，不可擋的鞭子揮過時，必不臨到我們；因我們以謊言為避難所，靠虛假來藏身」；

按着命定，人人都有一死，死後且有審判。

惡人因所行的惡必被推倒；義人臨死，有所投靠。

誰能常活不見死亡、救自己脫離陰間的掌控呢？（細拉）

他因軟弱被釘在十字架上，卻因上帝的大能仍然活着。我們在他裏面也成為軟弱的，但對你們，我們將因上帝的大能而與他一同活着。

惡人，就是忘記上帝的外邦人，都必歸到陰間。

他們那些倚靠財貨，自誇錢財多的人，沒有一個能贖自己的弟兄，能將贖價給上帝，讓他長遠活着，不見地府；因為贖生命的價值極貴，只可永遠罷休。

你實在把他們安放在滑地，使他們跌倒滅亡；他們轉眼之間成了何等荒涼！他們被驚恐滅盡了。人睡醒了，怎樣看夢，主啊，你醒了也必照樣輕看他們的影像。因此，我心裏苦惱，肺腑被刺。我這樣愚昧無知，在你面前如同畜牲。然而，我常與你同在；你攙扶我的右手。你要以你的訓言引導我，以後你必接我到榮耀裏。除你以外，在天上我有誰呢？除你以外，在地上我也沒有所愛慕的。我的肉體和我的心腸衰殘；但上帝是我心裏的力量，又是我的福分，直到永遠。看哪，遠離你的，必要死亡；凡離棄你行淫的，你都滅絕了。但我親近上帝是於我有益；我以主耶和華為我的避難所，好叫我述說你一切的作為。

所種的是羞辱的，復活的是榮耀的；所種的是軟弱的，復活的是強壯的；

你們與死亡所立的約必廢除，與陰間所結的盟不得堅立；不可擋的鞭子揮過時，你們必被踐踏。

他若專心為己，將靈和氣收歸自己，

我們都必死，如同水潑在地上，不能收回。上帝不會讓人不死，但仍設法使逃亡的人不致成為趕出、回不來的人。

上帝也要毀滅你，直到永遠。他要抓住你，從帳棚中拉你出來，從活人之地將你拔除。（細拉）義人要看見而懼怕，並要笑他。看哪，這就是那不以上帝為保障的人，他只倚靠豐富的財物，在邪惡上堅立自己。

他們去跟蹤亞蘭人，直到約旦河。看哪，整條路上都是亞蘭人匆忙逃跑時所丟棄的衣服和器具，使者就回來向王報告。

誰知道人的氣息是往上升，走獸的氣息是下入地呢？

「你出去與仇敵作戰，若看見馬匹、戰車，以及比你更多的士兵，不要怕他們，因為領你出埃及地的耶和華－你的上帝與你同在。你們將要上陣的時候，祭司要來，向士兵宣告，對他們說：『以色列啊，要聽！你們今日將要與仇敵作戰，不要心驚膽戰，不要懼怕戰兢，也不要因他們驚慌，因為與你們同去的是耶和華－你們的上帝，他要為你們與仇敵作戰，拯救你們。』官長也要向士兵宣告說：『誰建了新的房屋尚未奉獻，他可以回家去，免得他陣亡，別人去奉獻。誰栽植了葡萄園尚未享用所結的果子，他可以回家去，免得他陣亡，別人去享用。誰與女子訂了婚尚未迎娶，他可以回家去，免得他陣亡，別人去娶。』官長要繼續對士兵說：『誰懼怕，心驚膽戰，可以回家去，免得他弟兄的心像他的心一樣消沉。』
