我用心去认识、探究、追寻智慧和事物的原委，并去认识邪恶带来的愚昧和无知带来的狂妄。

我转念，一心要知道，要考察，要寻求智慧和万事的理由；又要知道邪恶为愚昧，愚昧为狂妄。

我心裏轉來轉去要知道、要窺探、要尋求智慧和萬事的總和，要知道邪惡是愚頑，愚昧是狂妄。

我轉去用心了解、探察、尋求智慧和事理，為要明白邪惡是愚昧的、愚昧是狂妄的。

我轉而決志究察智慧、與萬事之原由、欲知惡之為愚、愚之為妄、

我盡心求道、欲知事理之所以、亦欲知愚昧之不善、

我轉而思之、專心欲得知識、欲究萬事、欲求智慧明哲、且欲知何為惡、何為愚、何為拙、何為狂、且欲知何為惡何為愚何為拙何為狂或作且欲知惡之為愚拙之為狂

So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the madness of folly.

So I tried to understand wisdom more completely. I wanted to study it and figure it out. I tried to find out everything I could about it. I tried to understand why it’s foolish to be evil. I wanted to see why choosing foolishness is so unwise.

I turned my heart to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know the wickedness of folly and the foolishness that is madness.

I searched everywhere, determined to find wisdom and to understand the reason for things. I was determined to prove to myself that wickedness is stupid and that foolishness is madness.

I turned my thoughts to know, explore, and examine wisdom and an explanation for things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity and folly is madness.

I directed my mind to know and to investigate, and to seek wisdom and an explanation, and to know the evil of foolishness and the foolishness of insanity.

I applied my heart to know, To search and seek out wisdom and the reason of things, To know the wickedness of folly, Even of foolishness and madness.

I turned about, and my heart was set to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the reason of things, and to know that wickedness is folly, and that foolishness is madness.

I turned my thoughts to know, explore, and seek wisdom and an explanation for things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity and folly is madness.

I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason[ of things], and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness[ and] madness:

I tried to understand, examine, and comprehend the role of wisdom in the scheme of things, and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the insanity of folly.

I turned around, and my heart sought to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity, and that foolishness is madness.

愚人开口是愚昧，闭口是邪恶狂妄。

我仔细思想、探究这些事，就知道义人、智者及他们的行事为人都由上帝掌管，人无法知道前面等待自己的是爱还是恨。义人和恶人、好人和坏人、洁净的和污秽的、献祭的和不献祭的、行善的和犯罪的、敢于起誓的和不敢起誓的人，最终的命运都一样。在日光之下有一件可悲的事，就是人最终的命运都一样。再者，人内心都充满邪恶，活着的时候行事狂妄，最后都步入死亡。

传道者说：“看啊，我事事反复探索，要查明万事之理，却没有寻获。但我发现在一千个男子中还可以找到一位正直人，在众女子中却未找到一位。

他们贪婪成性，想用花言巧语在你们身上谋利。这种人的刑罚自古已经判定，他们很快就会灭亡。即使天使犯了罪，上帝也没有容忍他们，而是把他们丢在地狱里，囚在幽暗的深坑等候审判。上帝也没有容忍远古的世代，曾用洪水淹灭了世上不敬虔的恶人，只留下传讲上帝公义的挪亚和他的七位家人。上帝也审判了所多玛和蛾摩拉，将二城毁灭，烧为灰烬，作为以后不敬虔之人的警戒。祂只拯救了因恶人的淫乱放荡而忧伤的义人罗得，因为义人罗得住在他们当中，天天耳闻目睹他们一切无法无天的丑行，他正直的心很痛苦。上帝知道怎样拯救敬虔的人脱离试炼，把不义的人拘禁在刑罚之下，等候审判的日子，

因此，我对自己在日光之下一切的劳碌感到绝望。

于是，我转念思考什么是智慧、狂妄和愚昧。其实以后接替君王的人除了重演历史之外，还能做什么呢？

我专心用智慧去研究、探索天下各样的事，发现上帝给世人的是极重的苦工。我观察一切日光之下所做的事，看啊，都是虚空，好像捕风。弯曲的不能变直，缺少的无法补足。我心里想：“我获得极大的智慧，远超过以前统治耶路撒冷的人。我拥有丰富的智慧和知识。”我又专心察明智慧和知识、狂妄和愚昧，却发现这也是捕风。

我心里想：“来吧，不如尽情享乐，好好享受！”唉！结果这也是虚空。我说：“欢笑只不过是一阵狂妄，享乐又有什么用！”于是，我决意用酒使自己快乐，在体验愚昧的同时仍然保持理智，直到我明白在短暂的人生岁月中做何事才有益。

耶和华啊，每次我与你争论，都显明你是对的。然而，我还是对你的公正有所不解：为什么恶人总是得势？为什么诡诈之人反而生活安逸？你栽培他们，让他们生根长大，结出果实。他们嘴上尊崇你，心却远离你。

起来吧！去吩咐民众洁净自己，让他们为明天洁净自己，因为以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘以色列啊！你们中间有本该毁灭的东西，你们不除掉这些东西就无法抵挡敌人。

宁愿遇见丢失幼崽的母熊，也不愿碰上做蠢事的愚人。

我又看到日光之下，即使在公道和正义之地也有邪恶。我心里想：“不论义人或恶人，上帝必审判，因为万事万务都有受审之时。”

雅各的儿子们一听说这事，就从田野赶回来。大家都非常愤怒，因为示剑不该对以色列家做这丑事——玷污雅各的女儿。

她玛说：“哥哥，不要，不要玷污我！在以色列不应当发生这种事，不要做这种恶事。

愚人一再重复愚昧事，就像狗回头吃所吐的。

最重要的是，你们要知道在末世的时候必出现喜欢冷嘲热讽、为所欲为的人。他们说：“主要降临的应许在哪里？从我们的祖先长眠地下直到现在，万物依旧与创世之初一样。”他们故意忽略：太初，上帝凭口中的话语创造了诸天，并借着水从水中造出了地；后来，那个世界被水淹没而毁灭了。同样，现在的天地要凭上帝的话语存留到不敬虔的人被审判和毁灭的日子，那时天地要被火焚烧。亲爱的弟兄姊妹，有一件事你们不可忽略，就是主看一日如千年，千年如一日。主的应许还未实现，有人以为祂拖延，其实祂不是拖延，而是在宽容你们。祂不愿任何人灭亡，愿意人人悔改。

于是，我想：“既然愚人的命运也将是我的命运，我有智慧又怎么样呢？我只能说，‘这也是虚空。’”
