光是甜美的，眼見日光是多麼好啊！

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的上帝。又要囑咐他們行善，在好事上富足，甘心施捨，樂意分享，為自己積存財富，而為將來打美好的根基，好使他們能把握那真正的生命。

主人就誇獎這不義的管家做事精明，因為今世之子應付自己的世代比光明之子更加精明。我又告訴你們，要藉着那不義的錢財結交朋友，到了錢財無用的時候，他們可以接你們到永遠的住處去。

所羅門說：「你曾向你僕人我父親大衛大施慈愛，因為他用忠信、公義、正直的心行在你面前。你又為他存留大慈愛，賜他一個兒子坐在他的王位上，正如今日一樣。現在，耶和華－我的上帝啊，你使僕人接續我父親大衛作王；但我是幼小的孩子，不知道應當怎樣出入。僕人住在你揀選的百姓中，這百姓之多，多得不可點，不可算。所以求你賜僕人善於了解的心，可以判斷你的百姓，辨別是非。不然，誰能判斷你這麼多的百姓呢？」

於是我看出智慧勝過愚昧，如同光明勝過黑暗。

你們當領受我的訓誨，勝過領受銀子，寧得知識，強如得上選的金子。「因為智慧比寶石更美，一切可喜愛的都不足與其比較。

城中有一個貧窮的智慧人，他用智慧救了那城，卻沒有人記念那窮人。我就說，智慧勝過勇力；然而那貧窮人的智慧被人藐視，他的話也無人聽從。寧可聽智慧人安靜的話語，不聽掌權者在愚昧人中的喊聲。智慧勝過打仗的兵器；但一個罪人能敗壞許多善事。
