後將自謂我心心原文作靈曰、我心心原文作靈歟、今有多物、為多年之用、可安然飲食歡樂、惟天主謂之曰、愚者乎、今夜將索爾靈、則所備者歸於誰、

有人獨處無子、無兄弟、然亦勞碌不已、雖得多財、目中不以為足、亦不自問曰、我不自享所得、我勞碌究為誰耶、此亦屬於虛、徒勞無益、

天主諭所羅門曰、我立爾為我民之王、爾乃有此心、爾不求貨財、產業、尊榮、滅敵命、亦不求長壽、惟求智慧聰明、能判斷於民中、

爾之土產、爾劬勞所得者、將為爾所未識之民吞食殆盡、爾將受暴虐窘迫、恆久不已、

終身度日於黑暗中、多煩惱、多病患、多病患或作多憂傷多愁苦、

我之土地、土地原文作產業為外人所據、我之屋宇為異族所處、

我觀世人勞碌經營、皆緣彼此相妒、此亦屬於虛、皆如捕風、

王歟、至上之天主、以國威尊榮、賜爾父尼布甲尼撒、

寄居爾中之外邦客旅、必日升為高、爾必日降為卑、

爾至彼、必遇安居無畏之民、其地寛闊、物產俱備、天主必以其地付爾手、

壽高年邁、安富尊榮而逝、子所羅門繼其位、

異邦人吞其竭力所得、而彼不自覺、髮己頒白、髮已頒白或作彼已衰老而彼不自知、

於是廣興工作、建造屋宇、植葡萄園、立園囿、栽各類果木於其中、掘池沼、以灌林樹、購奴婢、亦有生於家之奴婢、又有牛羊眾多、勝於先我居耶路撒冷者、又積貯金銀、與列王諸國之珍寶、又得歌男歌女、及世人所樂者、以及妃嬪、如是我甚昌大、一切無不增加、如是我甚昌大一切無不增加或作我日以昌大勝於先我居耶路撒冷者、然我之智慧猶存、不禁我目欲所欲者、不禁我心樂所樂者、蓋我思我既勞碌操作、我心享樂、宜也、此我由我一切勞碌所獲之分、

人生在世、猶如幻影、營謀皆是枉然、積蓄不知誰取、
