其家平康、無所畏懼、上帝之杖、不加其身、牡牛孳息、靡有斷絕、牝牛產犢、亦不墮胎、孩童出則成羣、子女舞蹈、和琴鼓而謳歌、聽簫聲而歡樂、度日亨通、俄頃下於陰府、若輩對上帝曰、爾其去我、我不願知爾道、全能者誰、致我事之、祈之有何益乎、

我將謂我靈曰、靈乎、爾多財貨積為歷年之用、可安然飲食喜樂也、惟上帝謂之曰、無知者乎、今夜將索爾靈、則所備者誰歸、

有人孤獨無侶、無子嗣、無昆弟、而勞力不息、貨財不饜於目、自謂為誰勞力、不享福祉、斯亦虛空、乃苦任也、

上帝諭所羅門曰、我立爾為我民之王、爾有此心、不求資財、富有、尊榮、壽考、亦不求滅敵之命、惟求聰明智慧、能聽我民之訟、

爾之土產、及爾勞而得者、將為爾所未識之民吞噬、爾惟受虐見迫、歷久如是、

若何而來、亦若何而去、斯為大患、勞而捕風、有何益哉、

我之產業歸於外人、我之第宅歸於異族兮、

我見人因勞力、及諸巧工、為鄰所嫉、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

王歟、至上上帝以國位大權、尊榮威嚴、錫爾父尼布甲尼撒、

爾中賓旅、必愈升愈高、爾愈降愈卑、

既至、必見其民安逸無慮、土壤寬廣、天下物產、罔有所缺、上帝付之爾手、○

壽高年邁、富貴尊榮而逝、子所羅門嗣位、

外人食其力、而彼不知、首髮頒白、而彼不覺、

我興鉅工、為己建屋、植葡萄園、治園囿、而植諸果於其中、鑿池沼、以灌樹木而養之、購僕婢、亦有生於我家者、復有牛羊成羣、勝於先我在耶路撒冷者、且積金銀、及諸王諸州之珍寶、又得伶人歌女、及人所悅者、姬妾眾多、我寖昌大、勝於先我在耶路撒冷者、而我之智慧尚存、我目所欲者、我不阻之、我心所悅者、我不禁之、我所勞者、我心樂之、此即由勞所獲之值也、

爾上帝耶和華導爾入腴壤、其地有溪、有泉有源、自陵與谷而出、有小麥、麰麥、葡萄、無花果、石榴、橄欖諸樹、與蜜、爾在斯土、糧食罔缺、無所匱乏、其石乃鐵、其山出銅、必食而飽、因所賜之腴壤、頌美爾上帝耶和華、

世人行動乃虛幻、擾攘乃徒勞、積蓄貨財、不知誰取兮、

耶和華使所羅門於以色列眾前、極為尊大、賜以威嚴、以色列之前王、咸不及之、○
