貨財增、食者亦增、有貨財之人有何益、不過目觀而已、

贪爱银子的，不因得银子知足；贪爱丰富的，也不因得利益知足。这也是虚空。

喜爱银子的，不因得银子满足；喜爱财富的，也不因得利益知足。这也是虚空。

贪爱钱财的，金银不能使他满足；贪图富裕的，再多的利益也不能叫他称心。这也是虚空！

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

The one who loves silver is never satisfied with silver, and whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with income. This too is futile.

勿積財於地、彼有蠹蝕朽壞、有盜穿窬而竊、

有人獨處無子、無兄弟、然亦勞碌不已、雖得多財、目中不以為足、亦不自問曰、我不自享所得、我勞碌究為誰耶、此亦屬於虛、徒勞無益、

厥後我觀我手所經營一切、及我所勞碌而得者、乃知皆屬於虛、皆如捕風、在日下毫無所益、○

我觀世人勞碌經營、皆緣彼此相妒、此亦屬於虛、皆如捕風、

勒索之貨不可倚賴、劫奪之財不可妄恃、貨財雖然加多、莫以為念、

天主所悅者、賜以智慧、知識、歡樂、獲罪於天主者、天主則畀以收斂積蓄之任、終歸於天主所悅者用、此亦屬於虛、亦如捕風、

惟彼敵人、貪酒作孽、驕傲不安、放縱情慾、永不知足、猶如示阿勒、示阿勒有譯黃泉有譯陰府有譯墳墓彷彿死地、並吞列邦、使諸邦國、歸其統轄、並吞列邦使諸邦國歸其統轄原文作聚列邦集諸國歸於己斯眾必作嘲笑之歌以譏之、出諷刺之言以誚之、曰、禍哉爾歟、聚斂不屬己之財、何時為止、誠為己積累重大之孽債、困困原文作噬爾者突起、逐逐或作撼爾者忽醒、攘奪爾之所有、

彼所率之民無數、而後人又不悅之、此亦屬於虛、亦如捕風、○

人命獸命俱同、原文作人之所遇無異獸之所遇人與獸所遇惟一死亦彼此無異、皆恃呼吸之氣、如此、人無所勝於獸、皆屬於虛、

我厭惡生命、因我見日下所作之事、皆不善、皆屬於虛、皆如捕風、我亦自恨在日下勞碌經營、因我所得者、必遺於後我而來者用、

云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

阿路加有二女、恆呼曰、予、予、不知饜者有三、並永不言足者共有四、即示阿勒、示阿勒見一章十二節小註不妊之胎、不存水之地、焚物不止之火、

不如專心考辨、何為智慧、何為癡頑、何為愚蒙、乃知此亦如捕風、

天主之恩惠、時時常在、兇暴人乎、爾為何以作惡自誇、

人之勞碌、為口腹計耳、乃其心不知足、
