好金者、得金而不知足、好富者、獲利而不知饜、斯亦虛空、

贪爱银子的，不因得银子知足；贪爱丰富的，也不因得利益知足。这也是虚空。

喜爱银子的，不因得银子满足；喜爱财富的，也不因得利益知足。这也是虚空。

贪爱钱财的，金银不能使他满足；贪图富裕的，再多的利益也不能叫他称心。这也是虚空！

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

勿積財於地、其處蠹蝕銹壞、盜穴而竊之、

有人孤獨無侶、無子嗣、無昆弟、而勞力不息、貨財不饜於目、自謂為誰勞力、不享福祉、斯亦虛空、乃苦任也、

我觀我手所作諸工、及勞力之操作、乃知悉屬虛空、莫非捕風、於日下無所裨益、○

我見人因勞力、及諸巧工、為鄰所嫉、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

勿惟暴虐是恃、勿因刦奪而驕、貨財增益、勿繫念兮、

彼所悅者、錫以智慧、知識歡樂、惟以憂勞加於罪人、使其所收所積、歸於上帝所悅者、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

彼嗜酒行詐、驕傲而不安居、擴張其欲、恍若陰府、如死亡之無饜、集萬邦、會萬民、使為己有、斯眾豈不以譬詞諷之、以隱語嘲之曰、禍哉其人、聚斂非己之財、擔負典質之重、伊於胡底、剝削爾者、豈不勃興乎、窘迫爾者、豈不亟起乎、爾必為其所虜之物、

其所轄之民眾、不可勝數、而後人不之悅、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

人所遇者、獸亦遇之、人與獸所遇惟一、此之死猶彼之死、同一氣之呼吸、人無所愈於獸、悉屬虛空、

我遂惡生、因於日下經營、乃為煩惱、悉屬虛空、莫非捕風、我惡我於日下勞力操作、蓋所得者、必遺於我後也、

曰、試觀斯人、不以上帝為力、惟恃多財、以惡自固兮、

水蛭有二女、每呼曰予予、永無饜者有三、謂不足者有四、即陰府之所、不妊之胎、滲水未足之地、燃燒不止之火、○

我復專心以明智慧、而知狂妄愚蒙、乃覺亦屬捕風、

強暴者歟、何為以惡自詡、上帝之慈惠永存兮、

人之勤勞、皆為其口、而不能饜其欲、
