我又自思曰、世事如是乃緣人之故、蓋天主欲以試人、使人知人與獸無異、

我心里说，这乃为世人的缘故，是神要试验他们，使他们觉得自己不过像兽一样。

我心里说：“为世人的缘故，上帝考验他们，让他们看见自己不过像走兽一样。”

我心里说：“为世人的缘故，神考验他们，让他们看见自己不过像走兽一样。”

我又想：“至于世人，上帝试验他们，是要他们知道自己与兽类无异。

我自己心里说：“至于世人，神要试验他们，使他们看见自己与牲畜无异。

至于世人，我心里说：“神在考验他们，要让他们看见自己像兽类一样”；

我心裏說，這乃為世人的緣故，是神要試驗他們，使他們覺得自己不過像獸一樣。

我心裏說：「為世人的緣故，上帝考驗他們，讓他們看見自己不過像走獸一樣。」

言及世人、我心自謂、上帝欲試之、使知其與獸無異、

又思世人行事、上帝察之、欲人知異於禽獸者幾希。

I also said to myself,“ As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.

I also said to myself,“ God tests human beings. He does this so they can see that in certain ways they are like animals.

I said in my heart with regard to the children of man that God is testing them that they may see that they themselves are but beasts.

I also thought about the human condition— how God proves to people that they are like animals.

I said to myself,“ This happens so that God may test the children of Adam and they may see for themselves that they are like animals.”

I said to myself regarding the sons of mankind,“ God is testing them in order for them to see that they are as animals, they to themselves.”

I said in my heart,“ Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.”

I said in my heart, It is because of the sons of men, that God may prove them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts.

I said to myself,“ This happens concerning people, so that God may test them and they may see for themselves that they are like animals.”

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

I also thought to myself,“ It is for the sake of people, so God can clearly show them that they are like animals.

I said in my heart,“ As for the sons of men, God tests them, so that they may see that they themselves are like animals.

其時我愚昧無知、在主面前、與蠢獸無異、

按定命、人一次而死、死後有審判、

謂亞當曰、爾既聽婦言、食我所禁食之樹果、地必緣爾見詛、爾必畢生勞苦、始得食地之所產、地必為爾叢生荊棘、爾必食田之蔬、必汗流被面、始可得食、直至爾歸所出之土、爾本為土、必復歸於土、

又將其榮之富有、顯示於蒙矜恤所預定以得榮之器、

然必仍歸其祖宗之處、永不見光、人在榮華中、若不省悟、即與將死亡之畜類無異、

主使人逝世如水之流、亦使之如睡、青年如草、速然凋殘、清晨生發、隨即衰殘、至暮刈割、便皆枯槁、我儕因主震怒、幾至消亡、因主施威、皆甚驚惶、主將我儕罪愆、列於主前、將我隱惡、陳於主面光之中、因主震怒、致我儕日月速然而逝、我儕度年、疾如轉念、我儕年壽、不過七十、若強健者可至八十、其中勞苦煩惱甚多、日月甚速、我儕迅逝如飛、何人能識主怒之威嚴、誰能依敬畏主之道、明曉主之盛怒、求主指示我以計數自己年日、以便生智慧之心、

我惟得罪於主、在主之前行惡、主譴責我乃合理、審鞫我乃公義、

彼等如蠢獸、天然受生、特為人執而宰之、毀謗所不知、自取敗亡沈淪、而受作惡之報、

人乃婦人所生、年雖少而煩惱多、年雖少而煩惱多或作既不永年且多煩惱如花之發生、頃刻枯槁、如影之奔馳、不能停留、人既如是、主猶欲詳察之乎、主猶欲詰問我乎、孰能使潔者出於不潔、無一能之、

主使之立於滑地、使之陷於沈淪、頃刻毀滅、驚駭消亡、歸於無有、

況世人污穢可憎、作惡如渴者之飲水乎、

彼如群羊、驅入示阿勒、示阿勒見六篇五節小註為死亡所牧、清晨必歸正直人管轄、必從己之居處降於示阿勒、形容必毀壞其中、

爾豈可廢棄我命、爾因欲以己為是、而以我為非乎、爾因欲以己為是而以我為非乎或作爾以己為義以不義歸我乎

非也、當言天主為真、世人皆偽、如經載云、在爾言時得稱義、在爾被審時獲勝、

豈知人在榮華、不能永久、無異滅亡之畜類、

經載云、凡有血氣者如草、人之諸榮如草之花、草枯花謝、
