I know that everything God does will last forever. Nothing can be added to it. And nothing can be taken from it. God does that so people will have respect for him.

I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.

And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.

At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation.All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him:“ What have you done?”

According to what they have done, so will he repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes; he will repay the islands their due.From the west, people will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along.

It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.

Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.

He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe.These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:“ Not one of his bones will be broken,”and, as another scripture says,“ They will look on the one they have pierced.”

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say,‘ My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

“ Now then, I tell you the truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. When he has gained power by his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases.After he has arisen, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the power he exercised, because his empire will be uprooted and given to others.

When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say,“ I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes.For he says:“‘ By the strength of my hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, because I have understanding. I removed the boundaries of nations, I plundered their treasures; like a mighty one I subdued their kings.As one reaches into a nest, so my hand reached for the wealth of the nations; as people gather abandoned eggs, so I gathered all the countries; not one flapped a wing, or opened its mouth to chirp.’”Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!

All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.

Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.

Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God.

They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.

The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.

Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
