人最好是吃喝，在自己的勞碌中自得其樂；我看這也是出於神的手。

A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God,

我曉得人生最好是尋樂享福，人人有吃有喝，在自己的一切勞碌中自得其樂；這就是神的恩賜。

我認為既善又美的，就是人在神所賜給他一生有限的年日中吃喝，享受他在日光之下勞碌所得的一切，因為這是他的分。蒙神賜予財富與資產的人，神都使他能夠享用，並取自己的分，在勞碌中自得其樂，這是神的恩賜。

你只管快快樂樂地去吃你的飯，懷著高興的心去喝你的酒，因為神已經悅納了你所作的。你當經常穿著白色的衣袍，頭上也不要缺少膏油。在你一生虛空的年日中，就是神在日光之下賜你虛空的年日中，你要和你所愛的妻子享受人生，因為那是你一生在日光之下從勞碌中所得的分。

你只要在耶和華你的神面前，和在耶和華你的神選擇的地方吃，你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及在你城裡的利未人，都可以吃；你也要因你手所作的一切事在耶和華你的神面前歡樂。

我在以弗所和野獸搏鬥，如果照著人的意思來看，那對我有甚麼益處呢？如果死人不會復活，“我們就吃吃喝喝吧，因為我們明天就要死了。”

然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂啊，你擁有許多好東西，足夠多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！’神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今天晚上，你的靈魂必被取去，你所預備的要歸給誰呢？’

你們和你們的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你們城裡的利未人，都要在耶和華你們的神面前歡樂，因為利未人在你們中間無分無業。

然而卻未嘗不為自己留下明證，就如常常行善事，從天上降下雨來，常常賞賜豐年，使你們吃喝充足，滿心歡樂。”

蒙神賜予財富、資產和榮譽的人，心裡所願的，都一無所缺，可是神使他無力享用，反而有外人來享用。這是虛空，也是禍患。

年輕人哪！你在幼年時要快樂，在壯年的日子，要使你的心歡暢；順著你心所願的，眼所見的去行。不過，你要知道，為了這一切事，神必審問你。所以你當除掉心中的煩惱，除去肉體的疾苦，因為無論是幼年或是壯年，都是虛空的。

萬軍之耶和華說：“你們若不聽從，若不放在心上，不把榮耀歸給我的名，我就使咒詛臨到你們中間，我要咒詛你們應得的福分，並且已經咒詛了，因為你們沒有把這命令放在心上。

尼希米又對他們說：“你們應當去吃肥美的肉，喝甘甜的酒，把部分飲食分給沒有能力預備的人，因為今天是我們的主的聖日；你們不要憂愁，因為靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。”
