All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

As long as they live, their work is nothing but pain and sorrow. Even at night their minds can’t rest. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

爾震怒、則余毀傷兮、爾發憤、則予驚惶兮、余有罪愆、爾癉之兮、余有隱慝、爾相之兮、爾怒奮揚、余壽俱亡、歲月易過、恍若中心之轉念兮、人生歲數、無過七十、如體壯健、可冀八旬、雖以遐齡自詡、而已晚景之彌艱、生命將絕、如鳥高飛、倏忽不見兮、

余遭難求主、雖至中夜、舉手不息、不敢稍以自慰兮、余也追思上帝、昔日救我、今也不然、彌懷殷憂、念及往事、更喪厥膽兮、因爾譴責、弗能偃息、遘此重艱、難以啟齒兮、

雅各曰、余旅世年百有三十、較祖旅世之年少、不能相及、且多歷艱苦。

我困憊兮欷歔、終夜兮流涕、幃榻兮沾濡、仇敵孔多兮、憂心鬱紆、我日衰老兮、面目槁枯。

勞者食無餘、每見其安寢、富者因多財、恆不遑假寐。

蓋多智多憂、識見愈廣、則憂愁彌甚。
